Guest guest Posted January 11, 2000 Report Share Posted January 11, 2000 Just posted a question on understanding Chiari and have decided to ask something that has really been bothering me.When I first got sick -Sept 6/92 (funny how one remembers ) I forced myself to work, be a good mom and volunteer for 2 1/2 years before I was diagnosed with severe depression and extreme anxiety. I know nowa lot of it was from being diagnosed as Carol Anuik Normal the other was from work and a few people around me. As time went on with help and lots and lots of rest I started to feel somewhat better and stoppeed playing mind games with myself --self negative talk and resolved my issues with work problems. However, all my symptoms remained as well as depression although not to the degree it had been. It took over a year before I felt like going out or seeing people. I still have a fair amount of problems with this. I continue to take Effexor in the am and sometimes in the afternoon and Serezone at night. This seems to keep me on an acceptable even road. Because at one time I got really scared about my loss of memory the Dr. orderd a Spec Brain Scan. It came back with moderate lack of blood flow to the right frontal lobe.(not the exact words) It stated this could be the first signs of alzheimers. Boy was I frightened. Saw this Neuro jerk in Toronto and he said no it was causedby depression. Does anyone have any info on this? How do they know what it is caused by if its in the same area. Any connection to Chiari. Will this show up on a new MRI so a better Neruo can read it. This constantly bothers me so I am anxious to hear from you. You are such a great group I thank God that I found you.
