Guest guest
Sandy, I think you are doing fine. But cut out the milk and switch to a protein drink. And no Carnation Instant Breakfast either. The rest about supplements can answer. Keep up the good work. Jeanne in WI Age 38 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ /150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@... Guest guest
Hi everyone. Thank you everyone who gave me great advice on the sugar and milk. I will give my husband the rest of the sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast that I bought. I had bought a lot of Boost to drink before the surgery and he got that too. My dietician says to eat 6 small meals a day but it seems as if I am eating all the time. Does anybody else have to eat that much? I have tried MET RX in cans and it tastes okay, it has 25 grams of protein in a can and only 1 gram of sugar in it. Thanks again, take care. Guest guest
I try to stick with less than 10g PER MEAL of sugar. When I deviated, it cost me 6#, very quickly. I can send you the program we use, as well. But um, you might want to ditch the ferrous sulfate and get some iron you can absorb. I didn't see calcium listed? Thanks, http://www.vitalady.com For info on PayPal, click this link: https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=vitalady%40bigfoot.com sugar and milk Hi everyone, prayers are with everyone having surgery this week. I am almost 3 weeks postop and was advised by my dietician to use sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast with skim milk and add powdered milk to that. I am supposed to puree my foods with broth or milk too. I have been using Silk soy milk which has less sugars in it. How much sugar are we allowed for the day? I only lost 13 lbs. in 2 weeks. Any suggestions? Any diet plans for new postops? I would like to lose a little more in 2 weeks than only 13 lbs. but I will take what I can. I know this isn't a competition but it sounds like I am way behind. What about vitamins also? I take 2 Flintstones vitamins a day (crushed), 1 tsp liquid iron(ferrous sulfate), and for my stomach- powdered Pepcid.I have tried the Veryfine water drinks, they are very good. They come in lemon, orange, raspberry, and strawberry that I found. They are around $1.98 for a 4 pack. Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement, I surely need it. Take care and hugs to all. Sandy from Ohio
Guest guest
We do 5-6 meals, but only 1-2 oz each. It helps keep the meal volume down AND helps keep your blood sugar from wandering.
