Based on these labs and the short amt of time you've been on this dose, I would give it some time, around another 4-6 wks. Then retest. If you're feeling better by then, then that is basically what you would go by. Looking at both your Free values, I think that they're both too low, but considering you've only been on this dose for a week, that should make it come up more by the end of the 4-6 wk time period. Both of these values, it seems, should be in the very upper part of normal range, in order for most people to feel better.

T3 & T4 (free) Lab results

I just got my labs in today.

Free T4 - 1.24 (.61 - 1.76)

Free T3 - 2.4 (2.3 - 4.2)

TSH - 1.943 (.350 - 5.500)

Based on this what dose of Armour should I be on? I've been taking 2 grains for the past week. I think I noticed a slight improvement first few days but yesterday and today I feel so tired and sleepy(usually it's just tired) I've ordered some adrenal glandulars that will probably get in next week. How many should I start out taking?

What is it again that I want to strive for with my numbers above?

Thanks!

Hi ,

Thanks for your comments. I didn't know that about feeling better in the

upper range of normal. I thought it was the opposite but I may be confusing it with TSH.

A so-called 0'd out TSH does not matter, if you're not getting so much thyroid hormone into your body cells and showing in your blood as "available for use". It would be a different matter, if the Frees testing was way way up over the top. That's why the TSH is basically useless, when it comes to thyroid hormone resistance problems. Most doctors simply do not understand this. They think that if the TSH is on 0, then they disregard the fact that it wouldn't matter at all, if the person was not hyper on acct of it. TSH does not matter with these types of special problems. Most of us on these boards have these special resistance problems, which is probably why we're all here.
