Thank you all for your welcome. I live in Central California on the coast

in San Obispo County. Its a beautiful area. I was born and raised in

Los Angeles and am very happy to be living where I am now. Its has been a

great place to raise children.

I have done Weight Watchers for many years but found that I would loose

weight much quicker if I cut way back on my carbs. I've been surprised at

how much I was able to lose and the inches when I did very low carbs. I

don't really know how low is healthy but I cut way back and then find myself

eating around 200 carbs a day.

I've tried to do the strict Atkins Diet with 30 carbs/day and my system

didn't care for that extreme too much. My friend who does Atkins says it

causes her to urinate much more often than regular. But I didn't find that

out. I found out that it causes constipation for my system where it didn't

with her. I began to eat more carbs and the problem went away. And I feel

like I have slight more energy with eating a bit more carbs.

How many carbs do most of you eat per day?

I found this list by the moderator who submitted a recipe for bread to the

TNT list. Do you post many recipes here for low carb meals? Do you have a

board where there is a archieve of recipes? Just a few questions.

Hi ,

We post recipes on and off. You will probably see a slew and then none for

a while. I think there are lots of recipes on our home page--the url is

posted at the bottom of every email. There are also some things, I don't

remember what, at the egroups address under member files or something like

that. Someone help me out here, I am babbling about I know not what.

What is TNT?

Speaking of recipes, anyone heard from Tinkerbell? I miss all her posts.

Is she still a member. Weird how people drop off the face of the list.

Tink, you here?

corky

> How many carbs do most of you eat per day?

Hi - since I seem to try to be on induction levels most of the time I

try to stay below 20g carbs per day. I think there are a lot around here

who are trying to stay under 20 as well. If you are interested in seeing

what a 20 carb menu looks like you are more than welcome to see the plan I

followed last August for 31 days and staying under 20 carbs just about all

the time (and lost 17 pounds). Of course the menu would be changed for a

different person but its what I did and might give you some ideas. Just go

to my homepage and click on my Atkins page - you will see August Challenge

Results there to click on.

Have you read Dr. Atkins book?? How long have you been following a low carb

plan?? How many carbs do you average per day now??

I think we all seem to be urinating more frequently but then we are also

drinking more water too (but I find my body become accustom to the amount

and that the trips to the bathroom settle down for me). How much water are

you drinking??

A lot of people also seem to have some problems occasionally with

constipation. Sometimes this corrects itself as your body gets use to this

new WOE or sometimes they use Pylisium (sp?) or Metamucil (sugar free) to

help them in this area.

How much have you lost?? Again - welcome to the list and let us know what

you need :-)

I know - questions questions questions LOL

> Have you read Dr. Atkins book??

Yes I have. My friend at work has it and I spent a few days reading it. I

went by the book for the first 2 weeks and lost inches, but I haven't gotten

on a scale yet.

How long have you been following a low carb plan??

Its been 3 weeks now. I gradually started eating more carbs, because I felt

my body needed more fiber in it (due to the constipation).

How many carbs do you average per day now?? I would say I am around 120

day. I want to get under that but am having problems. For breakfast I've

been eating mostly eggs and egg omlets. Do you have any suggestions what I

could do for a variety for breakfast?

How much water are you drinking??

I'm really good at my water. I do drink 8 glasses per day.

> How much have you lost??

I've lost 42 lbs so far. I have another 15 to go.

That sure seems like a lot of carbs - but also if its working for you then I

say go for it :-) I also have mainly eggs for breakfast - with bacon

sometimes. But other suggestions would be a protein shake, leftovers from

the night before (many people eat chicken, steak, pork chops for breakfast)

Now that I have successfully made the bread - that will add a little variety

occasionally (like on Monday I had a fried egg sandwich -oh so unheard for

such a long time)

Glad you are getting the water in - the more the better they say so keep it

up :-)

You have done WONDERFUL - congratulations!!!! Its no easy task to lose this

weight and you are getting close to your goal. Must make you feel good :-)

Glad you saw my recipe for the bread on TNT and hope you got a chance to

check out those other recipe sites - there's a lot out there on the web for

us to help us on this WOE, its just a matter of finding it sometimes.

Keep up the great work you're doing.

Nice job ....only 15 to go.

I look for the lowest carb veggies and tuna and other fish

when I need to break a stall.

Cauliflower, broccoli, and asparagus " keep me regular " .

I love eggs... but would rather have them for lunch than breakfast,

so I usually have a atkins bar for breakfast.
