Guest guest
I must add my "AMEN" to your comments about the necessary paperwork. It is important that they get the right facts about who really needs the medications. If they don't, then the program will not work. I also realize that waiting can be less than fun. I have had to buy one prescription and get samples on another while I await the meds from the two companies involved. One company told the person from my physicians office (and they are the ones that coordinate things for me) that the demand is very high for the program, and they are processing all of them, though it takes longer. I can affirm that many persons think these programs should work out snip, snap, and its back. Folks, it just don't work that way any more! The field of medicine, from the Nurses and doctors, to the PT, OT and all those other specialties, as well as pharmacists and drug companies, have more paperwork today than ever before. Being a defeatist and getting all upset because one of our friends had a problem with the process once, is not going to help any one. If it is in the past, let it rest, past is history. We gotta live in the here and now, so that we can stay up with the present needs, not our needs last month. That just won't hold water! Sorry, I'm on my soapbox, but I'm getting a bit sick of hearing that it doesn't work for me, so it can't work for you or your relative. I read the Medicare book every year so that I can stay up on what is paid for and what isn't. I have to, as I am a guardian/conservator for 4 persons who are one it. I too will be on it next year. I know that what Tonia has said about her uncle is true. I could bore you all with the details of the hundreds of persons I've seen it work for, but I won't. That is not what these egroups are about! We are here to help each other, to share funny things, to share the pain, to learn, and to teach. This sideline stuff is just not productive. I hope I'm not stepping on any management toes, but gosh, we've got to do something about it. I know I'm way past sick of the way it has become. OK, I'm going back to lurkdom, and won't come out for a long time, it that is what everyone wants. I just don't want to be a part of the problem. I want to be part of the positive, even when it hurts bunch. Thanks Twila Re: The Medicine Program Margie, I was just trying to offer you some help. You have posted twice about Jeanne's problem with this program and I am very sorry that she had a problem. I know several people who use this program with great success and that is why I posted it. It appears that even you use it successfully although you seem to be unhappy that it involves paperwork and is slow but that is the way all programs work. You have to realize that there are a lot of people that use these programs and the turn around time is long but the fact is you did get your meds and that is what is important!
