Vitamin D may play an important role in our illnesses. I would definitely be taking cod liver oil and getting sunshine to make sure of getting enough Vit D. I also would not try to get Vit D from milk...that's not really the way to go. Please read this informative article and check out some of the links, too.

Seasonal blues?

The other day I heard that a woman who suffered a seasonal disorder got over it after massive doses of Vitamin D . . . She was so bad that, by the time the diagnosed it that she had to take Vitamin D via IV. . . Now she just takes large doses of it.

Guess it didn't have all the other Vit D links, so here is another one.

Good Morning Donna:

I have had a few bad days, and I have been in bed. This morning, I am still not right, but my thyroid is low and that could be the problem. My doctor has ordered more blood work, but I have not had this done. He has put me on 400IU of vitamin D...pills, and we hope that it will help with my depression.

My weight is a problem, too, and I just cannot go on a diet at this time. I used to be able to lose weight quickly, but I am not active enough. I had always been very thin, even after having my children...always around 105lbs. The thyroid is a problem for most all women who have had these toxic waste bags.

Take care love...........Lea

Re: Seasonal blues?

Thanks so much for the info. I have heard of cod liver oil a long time ago when my Son was young they wanted to put tubes in his ears. I gave him cod liver oil and he didn't need the tubes. It was nasty I do remember the taste. How do you take it liquid or do they have pills. He was a small child so I had the liquid I tasted it for him to see how good it was and Mommy would take it. I almost puked. LOL I didn't blame that baby for not wanting it. LOL Thanks again

Honey, the poem is really beautiful, but sad. Thank you for sharing. You are a very strong lady, and this will help you to get through the bad times. Also, having a daughter who is kind to you is a blessing.

I take a sleeping pill, and it helps me to have a good night sleep. The problem that I am having is a sadness that just will not go away. Perhaps, if I start to take the vitamin D, it might help. We will get through this as long as we stay together.

Please try to have a happy day too...love...Lea

Re: Seasonal blues?

Lea,

Good Morning and yep sure enough my thyroid is a problem now. I also struggle with weight gain myself. I didn't sleep good last night. It gets that way sometimes for me. My Son has been sick and it is hard to take care of him being sick myself. GRRRR I helped him the best I could, my daughter bless her heart at 19 seems to have to do everything for me. I feel so bad for what I have put my kids through. It is an everyday struggle that is for sure. My daughter is so sweet and I really feel lucky to have her that is for sure. She worries a little to much about her Mom since explant and finding out the truth behind the whole mess. These implants sure take a toll on our bodies. I feel lucky to be alive so I can't complain, I just ask God to let me live to see another day. I woke up this morning and wrote a poem about Me. I always liked to write but was always to busy and in a hurry to clean and make sure everything was perfect. The implants sure will teach you patients that is for sure. I hope you have a better day and thanks for writing. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Donna,

I use Carlson's Cod Liver Oil with a lemon taste, and it is not bad at all. I do have to wash it down with something to drink though. There is something about the texture of oil that makes me gag! You can find Carlson's at most health food stores.

Otherwise, Garden of Life has Cod Liver Oil capsules that work well too. I've used both forms and really don't prefer one over the other. It just depends on what mood I am in and how fast I need to get it down.

I trust the Mercola info...so on the one hand, Vit D sounds like it is very vital to those of us with autoimmune symptoms. On the other hand, it is important not to get excessive Vit D too, so there has to be a balance. http://www.mercola.com/2004/feb/28/vitamin_d.htm

Sunshine is not the boogeyman that it's been made out to be by the skin cancer dudes...I think the benefits of receiving sunshine in moderation far outweigh the risks of using sunscreens myself, and Vit D is best obtained by proper sun exposure. In winter months, taking Cod Liver oil is recommended.

Best wishes!

Patty

The Maker's Diet calls for no cow's milk also . . . The human stomach is not designed for it.

Re: Seasonal blues?

Rogene,

Interesting since Dr.Kolb's diet calls for no milk or dairy products. Maybe I need some good ole vitamin D. Thanks this is helpful and interesting.

Though, since it is based on the Bible, certainly milk products are allowed....the Mediterranean people consume various milks, including camel, sheep and goat, and in India, they drink water buffalo milk as well. The Promised land was called a land of "milk and honey", so I'd have to say that dairy products aren't as bad as they've been made out to be by some. Alot of the problem is in how it is produced and how it is consumed. Fermented dairy, such as yogurts and kefir certainly have a place in a healthy diet, IF the person is not allergic to casein.

Just my 2 cents!
