Guest guest
I am not w/c never was. My rsd was caused by a dr. All my Drs and the patients guide state that about liver tests. There are alot of blood work test that medicare will not pay for. I had to sign a waiver at a Drs office last week for a sed rate , that I would pay for it because medicare wont. There arent many blood work tests that medicare will pay for except under the physical that they allow every 2 years. In order to get the cancer blood test paid for, the Dr has to pre diagnose cancer. They cant use it as a diagnosis tool. If I am wrong then about 6 differnt Drs that I see are wrong and so is the Medicare handbook too. This is not for patients in the hospital, this is for patients seeing a Dr in his office. Maybe you see patients more in a hospital setting. Margie
Guest guest
Gleen When I went to my gastro dr two weeks ago with a fever of 104 and obvious intestinal infection he and the nurses went through code after code trying to find one that hopefully medicare would pay. They finally put down 4 different codes trying to get a sed rate test paid for. if the test came back negative then medicare wont pay. it is crazy!!! Guest guest
Tonia he must have had medicare and Medicaid I only have medicare. they pay on a 80/20 deal but only 80% of what they approve, not what the charges are. When u go in the hospital you have to pay 792.00 up front for each time you go in, then the 80/20 deal of approved charges. Also maybe he had a medicare supplement I cant afford one until I am 65. The cheapest rate I have found for one in NV for under 65 and disabled is over 800 per month. I can get one i march that will cost me around 100.00 per month. Then I will be in much better shape as far as Drs and hospital bills but they still dont pay for meds, that is what Bush promised us medicare patients but it has been put on the back burner with the war going on now. Guest guest
Medicare paid for everything for my father in law, including numerous blood tests, x-rays, then paid for the surgeries, hosp stay, chemo and room/board/travel. Guest guest
he is only 59, and was on nothing at all. He has had to pay for everything himself until then, self pay I guess its what it is called. But from the time that the doctor thought that something was wrong, he hasn't had to pay a penny.
