Well, I went out and bought a Breadman Plus today....Bed Bath and Beyond had

it for $99, but they honored my Linens and Things coupons that I had - $50

worth (!) so it cost me $49.....I thought that was a pretty good deal!

I came home and thought..ok, now I REALLY want bread! What did I do?? Not

take the breadmaker out of the box.....I grabbed for my Atkins Bread mix and

made the bread on the package. 30 minutes later I had what I call pancake

bread.....it tasted like C_ _ P! Now I have no desire for bread.

Tomorrow - I shall make the Carbolite Bread and hope it works.

Has anyone had this bread come out too wet in the machine? I found that I

had to add about a 1/4 cup of additional gluten for it to form a decent

dough to be kneaded, and then it was still a little sticky. It came out of

the oven looking great...can't wait until it's cooled so I can try some :)

Marie,

I thought mine looked a little too wet also but I left it alone and it came

out just fine!

Hi Marie - when I was first trying to make this bread I think the problem I

was having was it was too dry in a way because it was not even staying

together in a ball during the kneading process. But when I added the egg it

just seemed to make the world of difference :-) So I haven't had it come up

wet or sticky (but it does now I guess look kind of sticky but I leave it

alone because I know it will turn out). Hope you like it.

Take Care

Hi Karyl,

I just read your post on getting the bread machine (am I behind OR

WHAT!!!) and really had to laugh at your " pancake bread " . I love my bread

machine but have probably made more mediocre or just plain bad bread than

good. I am grateful to you guys for the new bread recipe.

It's funny how when you change your way of eating that sometimes your

taste for food changes too. Kari and I were talking today about how the

nice lean 15% ground beef now seems dry and tasteless. Bring on the good

ground meat, like 30%. :o)))

Incidentally, don't get scared but your message was number 666.

Wooooooo!!! Is it pumpkin time??? (I told you I was behind on my messages)

Love Mom Pudge (Sharon)
