and other BM questioners!!

Hi! I have not been on the list for a long time. My son though, has

very bad bowel issues since about March. I believe, though no one has

officially backed me up on this-that there is an issue of atresia or

stenosis in the intestines as well and for some reason things do not move as

well. We went through prune juice, apple juice, etc. and nothing worked.

WE've been on Miralax, fiber pediasure, extra water, lactulose, and nothing

works. We are at the point where he will not go at all unless we give him an

enema or give him senokot the night before (and even that only produces one

bm) and we are very frustrated. Our GI dr did her residency at Pittsburg

childrens hospital and we are actually looking to MOVE to Pittsburg because

they have a dismotility clinic and I have heard they can do stuff there that

they don't have the money or training for here. Basically, we have no

solution, except that we know we have to MANUALLY produce a bm for him

because he doesn't have the ability to. We thought it was behavioral too

because he would cry and bite and thrash around. It wasn't frustration

(although THAT occurs too!), it was just that he needed to move things

along! I would also like any ideas....although we've found if we stay on top

of his bm's he's pretty manageable. I'd like to get him going by himself if

possible. Our drs are quite puzzled. Good luck!!
