Today, my rheumatologist was more interested in my infection than in platinum. The bleeding has stopped in my abdominal area, and there were no tumours. He said that I have a serious infection called diverticulitis and wanted bloodwork done immediately, in case it gets into my bloodstream. I have been sick for over a week. The back pain is something that has been caused by too much work, but he wants to do further testing. He will be talking to my Dr. Brown this afternoon. He said that the reason that lupus patients have serious GI attacks is due to steroids and other medications that cause stomach problems. My big problem is the H-Pylori, and this time he said that it must be eradicated...and no more stress! He is the best rheumatologist we have ever met! Diverticulitis is very serious if not promptly, and correctly, treated. Please take very good care of yourself . . . and don't stress over everything! (Easier said than done, isn't it?) Yesterday, when my rheumatologist said to have the bloodwork done right away, I knew something could be wrong. We had the bloodwork done in the hospital and he should have the results today. He knows my family doctor well...this helps. Have you heard from our Kenda, I am worried about her? However, my family practitioner advised that this is a blood test that they no longer do and suggested I contact an allergist, which I plan on doing and will let you all know what I find out. Most mainstream labs did not want to get caught in the crosshairs of the politics of breast implants, and so when the medical people started dissing the silicone sensitivity test as not being "reliable" or "of any value", (because they just didn't want to deal with the implications of it), alot of labs just didn't volunteer to do that testing. An allergist is a good idea too, and I will be interested to hear what happens. A toxicologist is another option, as is an immunologist. Hope you find some answers!
