Guest guest
Hi Everyone; This note was put on another list by Cheryl in NY. I thought it would be a good subject to talk about. My Surgeon gave out the cards and I use it all the time. I either get a childrens portion or half of the meal for half the price also. How about others what do you do when eating out? in Pa. I have the " discount " card that my surgeon hands out at your 6 week post-op visit - but I am - should I say - " embarrassed " to use it - it's just a pride thing - but I live in a small town and by now (7 months) almost everyone knows that I have had the surgery. I used to just go into the little diners/restaurants and order something then end up just eating a few bites - then the waitress would say " is there something wrong with the food? " and I would tell them no - and my husband would go into an explanation about " my wife had surgery and she can only eat an ounce of food, yada yada yada " and invariably the waitress would say " Oh, I know someone that had the same surgery, they are doing so well - why didn't you tell me - I would give you whatever you wanted - we will make it 1/2 order if you want " so now they just now to make it a 1/2 order - for 1/2 the price. It's not worth me taking home a doggie bag - because what I was able to eat this morning - might not agree with me tomorrow - so why bother!
