How wonderful to have made such a difference for kids in Rhode Island. Those

who follow in your footsteps are very fortunate indeed.

Even better!

My condolences (or congratulations, whichever is more appropriate). I hope

things go smoothly for you with as little heartache as possible.

Hi Kerri and ,

I'm in the same boat. Maybe we need to start our own little group on that

subject. If you need to vent, feel free to do so privately with me as well.

I know I need to sometimes as well.

Been there done that. Best of luck to you

OK, it looks like what we were told was correct. When my son was diagnosed

we went to a support group to vent. The counselor there told us that the

parents of a child with special needs were more likely to divorce than

parents of regular/normal (whatever that is) kids. We were told the divorce

rate was double at that time. From all these " Been there done that "

post's I guess I am lucky to still be with my husband....(well, that is

debatable some days!) We have had rough times with all the stress of having

an ODD diagnosed deaf child and an ADHD/ODD/asthmatic diagnosed hearing child.

My hats are of to you gals that are doing this alone :)

Yes, it's difficult to do it alone but this list makes me feel that I am not

so alone. I just wish you could help me get the kid to the doctor, and

soccer, and girl scouts, etc. :-]
