When you're hyper your body, heart, everything is under a tremendous about of stress and exertion... exercise is one of the worst things to you can... with a heart rate the stays in the triple digits for an extended period of time, remember, it's getting NO rest... you can have a heart attack while sleeping... so adding to the stress is NOT a good thing...

Do things like excercise help? I stopped going to the gym because when I would get on the machines(elipitical, treadmill ect;) My resting heartrate was 160bpm. Thinking I was stressed, I have ignored most of my symptoms. Now I am waiting for my bloodwork(should be here shortly, like this afternoon)

It just seems exercise cures all. That would be alot easier than other remedies.

I kinda figured that. I declined an invite to go ride my poor neglected horse over cross country jumps. I figured it would raise my heart rate too much. I feel like such a hypochondriac these days!!

Ask me, I ran around a track everyday for approximately 9 yrs or so, like a hamster on a wheel. The only reason why I started this was because of depression, nervousness, and free-floating anxiety. Was anorexic and lost weight down to 113 lbs at one point (that was before I started running), woke up everyday with a pounding heart and couldn't eat. It was like something was always trying to "get me". I later found out that it was Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, first stages, hyper. When I crashed in '93, I couldn't even walk around the block (hypo). I would say that the exercise does help burn up that peculiar abnormal energy, but it also sends tons of cortisol out into the bloodstream. Joggers are just now finding this out. Too MUCH cortisol. This is the aerobic that I would not reccommend, no matter what the marathon runners say.

Tx

I have never been a good runner or much of an athlete. I was an excellent swimmer, but not fast enough to be competitive. I like water skiing and riding horses(which is alot more areobic than it sounds) I ride dressage and hunter/jumpers. Both will get a heart rate up. Nothing like cross country riding to make you work.

I don't think I could push myself like a runner does. I have a friend who runs, she talks about the runner's high. My husband used to race Mtn bikes and he talks about it. I am too lazy to push myself that far :)

I wasn't a runner before the hyper, it was only when I was trying to relieve these symptoms. Pure instinctive survival! I am not a runner now, for sure.
