In working with Dr. Kolb, I don't understand why you don't just ask her to run the silicon hypersensitivity test. Also with the Cipro, it can be made with out the silicon and or substituted for a silicon free med. It may be that there are different forms and or brands of the Cipro that don't have the silicon, such as liquid or capsules instead of pills. If you truly want to get well then you have to be diligent and persistent in investigating this and demand answers. I am not a doctor, but if indeed you are hypersensitive to the silicon, then the statement, "It shouldn't bother you" when you place it directly into your blood stream through medication, is very confusing. What if she's wrong?Can you think of anything else that someone is allergic to where they say just go ahead and take it anyway; without testing you or even recommending that you be tested? I smell something rotten in Denmark is the phrase that

comes to mind. I am sure that Dr. Shanklin, Dr. Smalley, Dr. Myhill, Dr. Russe Jaffe and the CPC lab that is currently running the tests, are not doing the tests just for fun. They have stood against their colleagues, withstood the ridicule, and temptations from the manufactures, some were very influential in having the silicone gel removed from the market when they testified at the FDA hearing. They have bravely risked their reputations and careers, and stood by us against the manufactures for a reason.According to several research studies the implants do not cause all of the suspected illness that we women who have been affected claim we have. Well, if that's true, then what is causing all of these symptoms?If your doctors don't believe you have problems related to your implants, prove it to them. Show them something tangible that they can not argue with! A blood test that proves that you are having a

problem with silicon is the best way to do that. This is especially true for women with children who have been affected. Many women who have children with multiple unusual symptoms are accused of MBP. Because the doctors are not familiar with and or not investigating the illnesses related to the silicon exposure and the children exhibit so many different unexplainable symptoms the children of women with implants are at a greater risk of having a parent misdiagnosed with this symptom.On the issue of the hypersensitivity tests being denied because the tests are being done out of your doctors circle, just continue to insist. Put your request in writing. gather all the information you can on the hypersensitivity tests, give them to your doctor and insist that they place your request and the test information in your medical file. At that point if they prescribe a medication with silicon in it and you end up having a

positive hypersensitivity test through other channels, then they are liable for any adverse affects that maybe caused by the allergic reaction to the silicon in the medications they prescribed. When providing your doctors with the information ask them, IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO BECOME ALLERGIC TO MINERALS? iS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO BECOME ALLERGIC TO SILICON. SINCE I HAVE BEEN SHOWING SOME ALLERGIC TYPE SYMPTOMS IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I MAY HAVE BECOME HYPERSENSITIVE TO THE SILICONE IN THE IMPLANTS? CAN YOU SEND ME FOR A SILICON HYPERSENSITIVITY TEST? I had a doctor tell me once that it is the way you ask the questions. If you do not ask the right question you will NOT get the right answer. Because of restrictions and pressures that are placed on our doctors through colleagues, insurance and pharmaceutical companies, you have to make it as easy as you can for them to help you.There is one more thing, if and when

you are successful in getting tested and the tests are positive, be prepared to find another doctor! My children and I were canceled as patients by some of the doctors because we had positive test results.
