Thanks to everyone for the replies about root canal/extraction!!! Your posts

were very helpful and kinda helped me stick to my gut feeling about it all.

Anyway I got the extraction on Wednesday morning It went very well!! I got

minimal amount of a non adrenalin anaesthstic and my dentist drilled the

composite filling to see wha it was like inside. My nerve was dead so we were

right that extraction/ root canal was needed. I don't think there was any major

infection so mt anti-biotics i took were probably a waste of time but my dentist

said he felt better for me taking them as when I met him the day before xmas eve

he was afriad it woudl get worse like it actualyl did and the anti-biotics would

prevent an infection getting worse. I hate taking the blated things but it was

only a 5 day course and it was augmentin which is a better one on the system

compared to others as far as I know. I jsut want to do all i can now to prevent

thrush or the like. I feel great apart from a few headaches which i think must

be only natual after a big molar tooth being pulled out of my gob )

Anyway thank you all again. I'm so happy I took extraction route now!!
