Guest guest
; Because he insulted Ron and that is unacceptable. It is also unethical to let people become involved and interested and develop trust and then delete them on a whim or personal insult. In my business (clinical psychology) this is grounds for a lawsuit

Yes, it sure is! > Is there a rule that you can't disagree or post > disagreements with a list owner? You can disagree all you want but there is no rule that the list owner has to post them! There are more lists and newsgroups on the Internet than you will ever be able to read, n, let alone contribute to. Why worry about that one? It is their loss! Guest guest
I agree, n, just saying, for one, would love to see him on this list. :-) (hope, hope) As I recall, when he was last invited, he was too busy with the LC-D list. And, since we are not a low carb list, perhaps he wouldn't like it. Somebody asked about it on a German diabetes list recently (Jan. 6th). Translated, it went like this: ----------------------- QUESTION: Have any of you heard anything new about the Glucowatch in the UK? Cygnus said they were going to start selling it in the last quarter of 2000 but I haven't seen anything up to now. ANSWER: The Glucowatch has been appearing " next year " regularly for the last ten years. :-)))) ----------------------- I have a strange feeling that this device has reached the same stage as the automobile engine that runs off tap water! There were reports that the special pad worn between the watch and the skin caused an allergic reaction after a time and you had to move the watch to a new position. Now, there aren't all that many positions where you can wear a wrist watch ... ! I also read somebody's opinion that the information you get from it is of the " high " , " medium " and " low " type which then prompts you to get out your trusted old BG meter to see what is really going on. These are all rumors, of course. Rumors are not much use to diabetics but they can be useful for people out to manipulate the value of a company's stock. You be the judge! I will keep my eye open for more solid information but I still feel that the best place to look for it is in the Wall Street Journal. Guest guest
Re: glucowatch irritation Perhaps the patient could wear the glucowatch during sleep or at times when he/she is likely to go low. I would think there would be less chance for skin irritation. Carol T

Guest guest
Re glucowatch irritation: I agree that it is most useful at certain times to have the watch. We need it badly at dinner and during the night. There is a continuous glucose monitor that you can wear for three days that sounds great, but get this, it reads the data into a black box so that only your doctor can review it. RIDICULOUS. Dr. Bernstein told us about the days when he had to go to the doctor's office to use a glucometer; thanks to Dr. B and a few friends, the glucometer was released for use by diabetics at home. That makes me angry; I can read the data, don't need a black box or doctor to see what food and insulin is doing. n
