Guest guest
Oh, Tonia, I wish it were different for you. Just saying the words 'truck ran into me' sends me off still. I hate that memory. I am sure you can relate. Take care. Hugs and a pain free minute, Deb Deborah Genatossio (Debgena@...) Guest guest
Deb, sorry about that. I still can't stand on the sidewalk and have a Semi pass me without freaking out. Its getting better, but that might be cause I was raised around Semi's at a 24-hour truck stop. But I know for a fact that even though I loved flagging road construction, there would be no way in h*ll that I'd be able to do it again. Its bad right now, physically and mentally. I need to get a doctor on my side to counteract the W/C doctors, but to do that, I'd have to pay for the doc appt, the meds that he'd put me on, the gas for my car, and probably a motel room for a night or two since we'd have to travel at least 5 hours no matter what. I can't afford that. I can't keep up with the bills right now, the kids needing new winter clothes, and laundry soaps (a softener that goes in the washer, laundry soap, and Biz cause I'm allergic to bleach). Needless to say, right now I'm debating to either go to the doctors if I can, or save the money for the more important stuff that the girls and the house needs. Right now, the girls and bills are winning. Tonia Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
The first sign I had for years was the felling of fire ants. The DRS did not know what it was at the hospital when I would go. I learned about Benadryl there. One day I took some medicine from my DR and after one pill I stopped breathing before they could get me to the hospital. The DR saved me of course(LOL) he said I was one lucky girl. Now I need to be careful not to take anything with aspirin. If I happen to get alittle, I feel the light stringing or itching, what ever you call it. It sure is bad. Yea, passing buck DRS are the pits!!!!! I am so sorry to hear you have to make that trip. Take it easy and good luck. I will be praying this DR will be able and willing to help in with your pain. Good luck. your friend cookie
Guest guest
Hi Tonia, Ouch, I know how you're feeling, I've had several of those procedures done myself. Let us know what happened with the nurse when you're feeling a bit better..... Hugs, Jo " It takes but a moment to get RSD, and a lifetime to deal with it. Do it one moment at a time. Guest guest
Ok, this is what happened with the nurse. I told her that I have RSD, as she was putting in the IV in my hand. Well, when she went in the room across from the one I was in to talk to the anstesiologist, she said to him that I said that I had Resist Sympathy Dystrophy, then changed it to Reflux Sympathetic Dystrophy, or whatever, and then laughed and said yeah right, I bet. The dumb b*tch is lucky I was attached to a needle! I plan on talking to my doctor when I go back on the 21st. I will not let a stupid idiot like that get away with it. I don't see where she can get off saying crap like that. She messed with the wrong person this time. I had her for my operating nurse when I went in to have Crystal, since she was C-section. I didn't like her then, and now I really don't. I know that my doctor raised h*ll when I called again yesterday, and was asked if I wanted to leave a message. I told them that I had left over 15 messages in 3 days and I wasn't about to leave another, and I'd be over as soon as I could be. Its a 35 mile drive, and Gene made it in 20 minutes, I went in and told the front desk that I really had to talk to my nurse. Within 10 minutes I was in the room waiting for my doc to come in. I know that he chewed some butt! The nurse hopefully will get the same or else I'm going to complain to the supervisor for sure. Guest guest
Hi, Tonia! If it isn't bad enough what you were going thru, you get some insensitive wench that doesn't have a clue about RSD. That is why it is so important that everyone signs that petition on line for both the house and senate to honor May as RSD/CRPS awareness month and let's get these medical professionals educated! I worked in medicine for 18 years and had never heard of this monster until RJ was diagnosed!! Going to her nursing supervisor is a good route and maybe she could make her do some remedial research on this CRPS and present it at an inservice! That will not only teach her that school is in everyday, but also educate her fellow workers! I have been posting with you, now, for a long time, and you certainly do not deserve to be treated so horribly, you are a caring and compassionate woman! Hope that your recovery is smooth and you will remain in our prayers! If she said this in your ear shot, think what she says about us to others out of your ear shot. And remember, she could do something that could cause you real problems before you have time to stop her. What was the Anstesiologis remark to this????? I AM SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! A stupid bitch like that you don't need and I hope you get her job. I think there are some nurses on here, ask them how to stop her too. Good luck. Guest guest
I take the baths to get past the midline (abdomenal) pain (a.k.a - vulvodynia/IBS, and for me resembles a nightmare UTI.) On my toes at first the hot was giving me real trouble... if I got my hands of feet in hot water (really anything that made my body temperature rise) ... well, my little toes would take to burning terribly..... Now, hot water is tolerable, and the burning is more constant and less aggressive 90% of the time, and the bone pain in all of my toes is worse than ever... (for me fibromyalgia is muscle tenderness and knots and bone pain.... all of my bones hurt and always have.... it's constant discomfort, and occasional moderate to severe pain.).... hugs..... andrea
Guest guest
I know that abdominal pain all too well lately, due to having to have a D & C done on Jan. 30. I'm still having some pains from that, although thankfully not constantly like it was. I am finding out that most of my stress is coming from the kids not listening, and their father not listening any better than the kids! Sami, my 6 yr old has a mouth on her that never stops, constantly mouthing off to me. Nothing I have tried helps. I've throwed away toys, I've throwed my own "fits" and have literally thrown stuff out the door, across the room, I've sent her to her room and have even tried grounding her, but her dad lets her out of those no matter what I say. Right now, I'm sitting here with my headphones on listening to a CD full blast. I've had enough. If I don't do this, Then I'll leave the house and who knows where I'll end up. The way the roads are, that would not be a good thing. Not only that, my car is still covered in ice, so I'd have to take the truck and it has the 4-wheel drive, but then he'd be pissed cause I took it. Its a no win situation around here. I'm about ready to go and take a bath and see if that will help my leg right now, but if I do before Crystal goes to sleep, she'll jump right in with me and I'll get more than just relief for my leg. I'll get more pain and one heck of a splash bath. Not what I'm wanting right now. Guest guest
hi tonia, the xanax is prescribed for anxiety, but also helps to control burning pain, i have been on and off it for about a year, it causes drowsiness and makes me feel really lethargic so i only take it on a bad pain day, huggs tammy Tonia wrote: Jan, What exactly is Vicodin HP? I've heard of Vicodin, and will possibly be on it next month even though I'm pregnant (its a lower dosage med, not as potent as most as I was told), But I've never heard of the HP part of it. As for Xanax, isn't that for Acid Reflux? Sorry, haven't heard of that combo before.... lol, learn something new every day I guess. ToniaI am also sorry to say, that I have to be on Narcotics to get rid of my pain. I am allergic to Morphine, so I am taking Vicodin HP and Xanax to control the pain and sweating. To be free of pain for at least 4 to 6 hours is a relief. I have taken and tried mostly everything in the book. For me, its Vicodin HP. I will have to agree that my Doctor who has been treating me is a very good Doctor and is chief of Orthopedic Surgery at our local Hospital, and is a Certified Disability Evaluater. He is not afraid to tell other Doctors and the Insurance Comopaany's where to go. I maybe the oldest person on the list with so many years of experience with RSD, as I was Vice President of the chapter in Orlando in 1987. Now a wonderful man, Doug Clee is president and he is in a wheel chair and his wife Takes good care of him. My wife died of Cancer in 1990 she was only 37, so I had to rely on other people My oldest kids and now that they are out of the house, its just me, and its Bad. I dont want to be in a wheel chair, But it is Bad this time of the year with Florida's Weather. If any Doctor reads these posts, I am not addicted to my meds, in my stage I must be on Narcotics to rid my body of this horrible pain.I welcome anybody else who has luck with Vicodin HP and Xanax combined. Please post any answer to me and I will write back, thanks for reading my posts.Hugs To AllJan, in Central Florida ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
