Guest guest
, I'm so sorry you got such bad news today. You are in my prayers. W GOING BLIND Hi Everyone. I went to the opthomologist this morning. This is the first time I have felt like getting on here since I got back. I have always been told that I was legally blind in my left eye from birth; but now the Dr says that I am now totally blind in it. He says that the pupil doesn't react to light at all now. And I have lost the ability to focas in the right eye. And it will continue to get worse as time goes by. He said that all of this is caused from neurological damage related to my stroke. So I guess that I will continue to sit with my face in the computer screen for as long as I can see. He said that even if I didn't have paralysis in my right leg that I will never be able to drive a car again. Hey, it could be worse. I could be deaf, blind, and mute. Guest guest
Dear , I just don't know what to say. Hang in there honey and let's see if we can all come up with technology gadgets that can help you still communicate without further strain on your eyes. I'll start looking and bring anything I see to your attention. You are my prayers. Mojo GOING BLIND > Hi Everyone. I went to the opthomologist this morning. Guest guest
Hi , I am so very sorry about the news you received today. I cannot even imagine how you feel at this moment. We are all here for your support with whatever we can do. I hope you feel like you can count on this group to be there for you. I don't know if my suggestion will help, but here goes. I receive Guidepost magazine and there is an advertisement each month about a power magnification system. It is suppose to help individuals continue reading and doing everyday tasks that require magnification. My FIL is looking into this for himself because he is loosing his eyesight. He is hoping the VA will pay for this machine. I have no idea how much it costs but if you want more info about it, I can look up the ads and give you it to you. I think it is called Video Eye. There may even be something on the internet about it, but I have never actually looked into it myself, so I don't know. I will be praying for you, however, I know that doesn't seem like much, when faced with this kind of news. Love, Donna GOING BLIND Hi Everyone. I went to the opthomologist this morning. When I was checking out my emails I was listening to the National raido station and you woulde'nt beleave it but there they were talking about a programe for computers that reads for the blind. It will read emails and word doc and is able to be used with most programes and on the www. I will try and find out about it but the artical was on at about 2pm sat. and I am sure that they will have a web site. Try New Zealand national raido. I will look from my end. I did'nt take much notice at the time as to who you contact or where you get the program because it was not ralivent. I read you email only moments later. I'll get back to you asap Kiwi Sharon
Guest guest
HI . I am so sorry that you received the news that you did. I was trying to pull for you and be positive for you.I was really hoping you would come back with good news. I cannot imagine how you are feeling deep down, I can only try too. I just pray that what is happening with your eye is a very very slow progression. I also hope that it will not cause you total blindness. Are there any things you can do to help preserve the sight in the eye? I mean are there certain irritants you need avoid, light, etc???? Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am still going to think positive for you. Love, Normi GOING BLIND>Hi Everyone. I went to the opthomologist this morning. This is the >first time I have felt like getting on here since I got back.
