Guest guest
: Welcome to our group! You've come to the right place to get help--the women here are very caring and knowledgeable. Your story sounds very familiar. Take some time and read the stories on this site and see how similar everyone's symptoms are; fatigue is one of the main ones. There's also lots of info about getting explanted and methods to help get your health back. It's been almost two years since I was explanted and I am so much healthier now and don't regret my decision. My so-called safe saline implants had faulty valves and probably had never been closed and were full of mold. I really think I'd be dead now if I'd listened to my doctors. A rheumatologist, who claimed to have treated 300 implanted women, told me I may as well leave them in as silicone was already all over my body and said I shouldn't put myself myself through additional trauma having them removed. This experience has shown me how uneducated doctors are about implants. It seems like the majority of plastic surgeons out there deny that implants make women sick, choosing to believe instead the propaganda the manufucturers put out, in particular a couple of flawed studies with big names tainted by implant makers' money. There are studies that show major problems with implants--they choose to ignore those. Guest guest
, How long have you had your implants? I started having symptoms about a week after I got them. My lymph nodes swelled up and were very painful, my joints swelled up, my fingers and toes got numb, I had a terrible headache in my left temple all day, every day, along with dizziness and brain fog. My veins bulged in my fingers and they looked blue, and my face looked gray all the time. I got my implants in May of 2005 and had them removed in November of 2005. It's been a gradual process but I am alot better than I was a year ago. My blood pressure skyrocketed when I had implants, and within one month of removing them, it was back to normal. The headaches went away after about 3 months, the numb fingers and toes went away after about 6 months, the twitching in my face went away after about 9 months. I still have some trouble with joint swelled, but not as bad as last year at this time. My thumbs still swell up, but last year at this time my elbows, knees, and ankles were swelling, too, and my thumbs were twice the size they are now (and they're still slightly swollen). There isn't any evidence that saline implants cause autoimmune problems because no studies have been done specifically on the women who get sick. There are tons of us with the same complaints, who suddenly or gradually got sick after getting implants. Guest guest
- LISTEN UP, you are not crazy, that is the exact same thing that has happened to a lot of us. I work in a school too, just about to look into disability, then I had this sort of HUGE insight into realizing it is the implants. Nothing really looked wrong with them, just had all the symptoms you listed, but then they started burning and that was the final straw (also lost feeling in one arm). I have been sick for two years, pretty much soon after getting them, but every doctor said implants cause none of this. Two weeks ago I found a PS who said they sure can cause all of this, he had a patient that was diagnosed with MS and surprise, she was cured after removal. I had mine removed tuesday, already feel better, like the drained and poisened feeling is gone, could be that my body just did not like them. But I was VERY SICK like you and really felt like I was going to die. My breasts are smaller than when I started all this, but are not deformed looking and are rather cute, which is really the skill of the PS I guess. I am sooooo happy, and think I will be better. You have got to listen to your gut. Normal healthy women don't usually develop this weird set of symptoms. I had saline too. HAng in there it is not easy, but the removal was a piece of cake compared to the implants. Guest guest
I have had mine for 6 years and I can't wait to have them out. The ps that I have seen says that he will take them out if it " eases my mind. " We didn't talk about the procedure. I will be asking many more questions not that I have read so much info on this site. I will also call more ps to see if there is someone better. thanks for responding to me. I have been very tired and it is difficult to tackle all of this. thank you. renee --- auntsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: > , > > How long have you had your implants? Guest guest
, I am sorry you too are ill, we are not few an are not silly we are in the thousands. You can get better if you get them removed. I had my implants for 20 years. I finally had them removed after ten years of being sick I was told that saline were safe that only women with silicone were sick. I didn't know that all implants have silicone because of the shell itself is silicone. It is a shame that people would think of us as silly when people get sick from all sorts of things including peanuts. Guest guest
, I truly hope you stick with us here, and read some more messages. It will be an education of a lifetime for you! These women here literally saved my life last year. I've been explanted since last July 26 and have a new lease on life. I had implants (bilumen - saline outer/silicone inner) for 20 yrs. I had 90% of the Silicone Toxicity Disease symptoms. I printed off a copy and gave it to my family doctor and the plastic surgeon that operated on me. Although they wouldn't openly admit my illness was from the implants, they quickly asked me if they could keep a copy for my file. My life is getting better by the minute and I'm able to enjoy my grandkids and even scoot around on the floor with them occasionally! I'm praying for you everyday, Love, Sunny xo Happy Granny of 4 Angels > > I write to you with tears running down my face, frustrated, tired and > feeling lonely even though I have such wonderful support from my > friends and family. > > I am, or was, a very active person until about 3 months ago when my > life came to a screaming halt. Guest guest
--I was thinking of that, my doctor turned out to be an angel. I did not have to argue my point, I barely had to say anything. He is probably one of the ONLY ones in my area who is convinced implants make you sick. He is out of the office on vacation for a few weeks, but when he gets back I will ask him if it is okay to put him on the list. It was 4,000, but I can tell he did a really good job, very even and he took OUT a bunch of scarring (the whole scar underneath so now I just have the vertical (the areola is healing from the last surgery, He also does the internal lift, which my original ps does not do, and I have a little perkiness from that. I have sort of loose skin from my pregnancies and they are not 20 year old breasts, but mine were never very dense even at 20, so all things I think he did a great job with what I had. And also very even looking. I will surely post as soon as he agrees. Nan- In , Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: > > Nan, > Is your PS on our list of recommended surgeons?
Guest guest
Yes, please ask him if you can refer other women to him from our support group. I am sure he won't mind the additional business, and we are always looking for good surgeons. I hope the idea of "a list" won't scare him off....some doctors are wary of getting titled in that way, but if he knows that implants are making women sick then surely he knows that the need is there for women to get explanted properly. I would love to know who it is. Thanks, Patty Re: saline breast implant complications> > -> LISTEN UP, you are not crazy, that is the exact same thing that has > happened to a lot of us. Guest guest
You could give him the address to the group and let him check out the list for himself. . . . It certainly shouldn't hurt him to be listed! Rogene Re: saline breast implant complications> > -> LISTEN UP, you are not crazy, that is the exact same thing that has > happened to a lot of us.
