Guest guest
Patty, I agree. I know when I went to visit the Rheumatologist (who testified on behalf of women with implants at the Dow hearings), she said that many of her patients were previously very athletic, taking good care of their health, and after implants they became quite ill. I have always taken very good care of myself, exercising, eating right, but my body just went crazy with implants. It would be great if they could test her for sensitivity to any materials used . . . but I doubt they would. Chances are she will do well with the shunt. > > The main thing is to be aware of what problems may occur . . . and to maintain excellent health practices to keep one's body as healthy as possible. > > It appears that the women who have maintained life-long good health practices tolerate implants longer than those who don't. > > Rogene > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Good point Patty.Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Ah, that last statement didn't work for me Rogene! I have to say, I've seen lots of women on our group who were active in sports, fitness, healthy eating and healthy lifestyles and still got sick very quickly. I don't think we can make a statement that maintaining lifelong health practices allows us to tolerate implants longer. And in fact, I've known of women who abuse their bodies mercilessly and still have implants without the devastating health consequences that some of us have faced. On the contrary, I think a healthy immune system may be one that attacks implants much quicker...hard to say. As I just posted, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason with which to estimate when women might become ill. It is just too unpredicatable. It's like playing Russian Roulette. Guest guest
Women who develop auto immune issues don't do so due to poor health practices. Some women have weaker immune systems than others. If genetic testing was done on all women who react to implants, I bet you'd find a lot of your problem there. Guest guest
Yes, some very healthy women get sick very quickly. They seem to have an allergic reaction or a bodily rejection of their implants in short order. I do think the state of health may have good consequences for a quicker recovery in some cases once implants are removed. Guest guest
, Within a week of getting implants, my digestive system was giving me problems, then after two weeks, my lymph nodes swelled up. After a month, my joints swelled up, I had strange pains in my feet, spasms in my legs, I suddenly started losing alot of weight (and after explant I gained it all back plus 5, and now I can't lose it, so I'm still not back to normal). After a few months, my fingers and toes went numb, and it felt like someone was driving nails under my fingernails and toes. I had bone pain, brain fog, headaches every day, and my blood pressure skyrocketed. This was about all I could stand and after six months of living like that, I had the implants removed by Dr. Feng. Results I great, I look almost like I did before, but I'm still working on getting better. I don't regret having the explant for one minute, nor do I question whether the implants made me sick, because I know they did - unfortunately it's going to take me a long time to get my health back. Hopefully in time I'll get better, but at least I know that they aren't inside my body still, making things worse. Guest guest
I said that based on long conversations I've had with Ilena . . . Granted, women can get sick from the outset . . . but she noticed that, of those who do tolerate them long-term, they usually are very health-minded. There are so many factors at work, it's really difficult to make a blanket statement. If only they would study the women who get sick, rather than write them off as nutz or sluts! . . . (For you newbies, there was one "study" that aluded to implanted women as nutz and sluts!) Guest guest
That is so offending for anyone with implants. If you get sick from them you are nutz and if you don't are you a slut?
