Guest guest Posted August 25, 1999 Report Share Posted August 25, 1999 Hi Everybody, As a teacher, my school district started the year today with an all district meeting for the entire staff. They brought in a wonderful motivational speaker to start the year, as they always do. At the end of the talk, this man told us about the book about his life that we could pick up in the lobby of the auditorium, once again, like they always do. The difference is, this year, I thought the speaker was so wonderful that I wanted to buy the book for andrea to read when she gets older. Unfortunately, I was without my checkbook or any cash. I went to the lobby and asked the speakers wife, who was selling the books, for their E-Mail address and web site address, so I could order the book on line. This lady did something nice. She gave me the book and told me to have her husband autograph it; then, when I get home, she said I could mail them a check. What wonderful people. Anyway, the reason I wanted to have this book for was that the speaker was a special man. When he was 18 years old, shortly after playing in and winning his high school basketball championship, and two weeks prior to getting his polio vaccination, he caught polio. Still, he had dreams, and he went for them and made them come true. Very inspirational. What an up lifting way to start the day.
