Guest guest
, Without knowing any of the symptoms or anything else about the patient, other than the urostomy and artificial bladder, I would lean towards urosepsis, only because it turns out that uroschesis means urinary retention and usually I hear docs say urinary retention rather than uroschesis. However, this is an ESL doc, so it is hard to tell. I am also thinking that a urostomy and artificial bladder would be less likely to become obstructed and cause retention. Could you give us any more of the symptoms, such as temperature, blood pressure, etc.? That would help. Margaret >>> " tessbear " 04/08/01 03:50PM >>> The pt went to the hospital and was found to have s/l *uroschesis or uorosepsis*. This is an ESL doc and it sounds more like the first one to me but I'm not positive. The pt had a urostomy and has an artificial bladder. Anybody know which word might be correct here? Guest guest
, With fever and chills, I would probably end up going with urosepsis. Margaret >>> " tessbear " 04/08/01 04:37PM >>> Margaret, He is giving a brief history of a prior hospital visit and doesn't give any specific vitals but he does say the pt had fever and chills. The pt had bladder cancer and prostate cancer in the past.
