If they seem resilient with a little give, they are nice and sweet. This is the way I like them. I guess I'd say they are sort of like peaches-- you don't want them really hard! If they are really squishy, they will be very very sweet-- and some people prefer them that way. Like bannanas they will ripen slightly in your fruit bowl. If you want to eat them as a fruit, buy ones between " resilient " and squishy.
