Guest guest
, If you go to Vitacost.com and do a search for candida, it will show you several supplements that can help control candida. I use the NSI Candida Yeast management (enzymes), and Nutrition Now Yeast defense (herbs), and the NSI Probiotic 15-35 You can also use colloidal silver, the zapper. I was recently told about syclovir (http://www.syclovir.com/). I have not tried it yet because it should not be taken during pregnancy. Their website has a LOT of info about candida. Syclovir caught my attention because not only does it kill candida, it also absorbs, and eliminates toxins. Here is info about syclovir: " What is Syclovir made from? There are over 10,000 varieties of plankton. Syclovir is made from an unusual food-grade Plankton. The silica of this plankton is uniquely treated and processed to help us have healthy support for our immune system. It is not a poison or toxin. The microscopic silica in the product is part of the plankton. The Plankton is processed for a specific purpose and in a unique way. Then it is combined with a little sugar from sugar cane and some kosher distilled vinegar for Candida's last meal and the blend of Syclovir is completed. Syclovir Picks Up Nicotine, Toxins & Chemicals - Perhaps able to absorb up to 1000 times its own weight in toxins, Syclovir is excellent at helping to clean up the blood and cells. " So there are many natural supplements that kill candida to chose from. Guest guest
The enzyme yeast killers like Candex, and NSI Candida Yeast Management break down (digest) the yeast cell walls to kill it, which they claim prevents a die-off reaction. (http://www.pureessencelabs.com/candex.php) I have not expereinced a die-off reaction with either of these, and I started out taking the maximum recommended amount. I haven't tried syclovir yet, so I don't know anything about syclovir, except what it says on the website, but since the plankton not only kills the yeast, but also absorbs toxins, should be able to absorb even the micotoxins that are released as the candida die, resulting in less of a die-off reaction, if any reaction at all. Of course, with all yeast killing products, if the best bet is to stat of slow, to minimize any kind of reaction. If anyone decides to try Syclovir, be sure to let us know how it goes. Cara > > A lot of the anti yeast products sound good, and are good at fighting yeast, but don't beleive it when they claim that their product doesn't cause a " die off " effect. If it kills the fungus (thats what candida is) it will release Mico toxins that cause a " Herx " reaction.
Guest guest
Hi Rich, I know you asked a simple question, but sometimes I get a bit long winded. I have/had PCOS, which I believe is caused by candida overgrowth. My PCOS symptoms were infertility, irregular monthly cycles (every 40 days), obesity, sugar highs and lows (probably d/t IR), and high cholesterol. After I took yeast killing treatments, my monthly cycle became regular (every 28 days) and then I finally became PG after trying for 3 years. My other PCOS symptoms also improved. It had to be a candida problem, since the ONLY thing that I was taking were treatments that kill candida. I took nothing else. I hadn't been Dx with MS at the time. After that baby was born, I stopped the candida supplements. And slowly the PCOS symptoms started to return. Then I had some dental work done Dec 05; they did a cleaning on my teeth full of amalgam fillings. I started trying for another baby, but had 2 unsuccessful cycles. In the middle of those, I had a filling placed (Jan 06). I made sure to ask for a white, mercury free filling, but didn't realize that it was in the same tooth as an existing mercury filling. I am sure tons of mercury leaked out during the drilling process. That month, my cycle came on day 35 instead of day 28. I knew the yeast was back in full force. I started the candida treatments right away, and my next cycle came on day 28. Then 2 months later, my MS symptoms started. 3 months later, I had all my amalgams removed, and started heavy metal chelation. I continued to take the candida products, until I started the herbal chelation supplement. I don't remember exactly if I just stopped, or slowed down, and then stopped. But I was just taking so many things, and I wasn't trying to get PG anymore, so I eventually stopped it all together. I wasn't fully aware of the mercury/yeast connection at the time. But then I started getting those itchy yeast rashes in the moist places. And then the bells went off in my head, and I remembered that I heard about yeast overgrowing during heavy metal detox. I used the zapper, and the yeast rashes dissapeared, so I decided to used the zapper for candida control instead of supplements. Then in Feb, I decided it was time to stop the mercury chelation supplements, so we could have a baby before the end of the year. I started taking the candida supplements again. We were successful in that first month we started trying. WooHoo. Baby is due in 3 weeks. I have continued to take the enzyme yeast supplement, and probiotics, but then got a kidney infection last month. So I had to be put on strong antibiotics. The yeast came back: I had the itching, cold and warm sensations started in my right leg, and heartburn, UGH the heartburn, and I am retaining water; my legs are swollen with pitting edema. I continued the enzymes, but it just wasn't keeping up. So I got an Rx for diflucan. I did experience a mild die off reaction, the heartburn got worse before it got better. The warm and cold sensations in my leg are still there, but not too bothersome. I am sure it was mild because I was also taking the enzyme yeast fighters. They want me to continue the antibiotics until I deliver this baby, to prevent another kidney infection, but I am so tired of the yeast. I am tired of the heartburn, the itching, the water retention, plus yeast messes up the hormones, and prevents uterine contractions. I really want to go into labor soon, and I need this uterus to start contracting. I was having a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions before the antibiotics, but have not felt many since. So I stopped the antibiotics a few days ago, and finally the heartburn is gone, the edema has decreased, and I have started getting some Braxton Hicks contractions again. Sorry to get a bit long winded, just wanted to be sure to give you a complete answer to your question. Cara > > Hi Cara, I was just wondering, how do you know that you have a Candida problem? What are the symtems you had? ..RP
Guest guest
Hi Dudley, you are always hunitng for bargains for supplements , but the Syclovir product at Amazon actually sells for MORE than the Syclovir sold from the syclovir.com site. http://www.worldhealthmall.com/product_p/sy.htm Maybe it is a different size tub. I am not sure how much is in either container. It would be good for the person thinking about a purchase to ask the venders about the size of their container of syclovir. Guest guest
Hi Cara, Braxton's Hixs contractions are often caused by dehydration - as is the edema you are taking about.? When we are in the process of growing a life, our bodies are more susceptible to yeast infections since we are actually in a reduced immune system state.? This reduced immune state is also one of the reasons many women with MS feel better when they are pregnant and tend to have fewer relapses. If you decide to breastfeed after delivery there are some advantages to you and baby in respect to MS. One is that it reduces your babies chances of contracting MS.? Another is that you will not go through the " make up for time " phase that MSers do after delivery (ie they tend to have all the relapses they missed while pregnant with in about the first 6 months after delivery)? Breastfeeding seems to give the mother a surf board to ride the wave out on (so to speak) and simply return to her " normal " schedule of relapses. (please excuse the dire vocabulary - this research was done by MDs) OK - I now can't stop myself.? Breastfeeding has SO many advantages for you and baby, along with being just what nature and baby asked for, I do hope you consider it carefully.?? If you do have any questions? or concerns I would be pleased to help talk you through them (sort of? my hobby). Helmi Blessings of the season! So many gods, so many creeds, so many paths that wind and wind - while just the art of being kind is all this sad world needs.
