I can't believe they are charging you for the records. I had similiar problems getting mine, and so my partner started showing up at the office, asking for them, and they wised up and got them to me finally.

just a quick update - a week and a half ago I sent a fedex and check to get my records from my 1st ps. (after being given the run around for a few wks about who was in charge of this) - I was told that they were located and would be faxed to me. Well, my check was cashed right away. I left a msg last week, and got a return one this morning stating that they were the wrong records, and now they need to 're-order' them and see if they can find mine afterall. They also repeatedly ignore my request for the preop photos and chose not to address it. I am being super nice in my dealings with them, but UGH!! Especially when I thought they were smooth saline and under the muscle, and this new ps is telling me she thinks they are textured and one is under the muscle and one is OVER, I am chomping at the bit to get my OR report. (which they keep referring to as my 'chart' - I hope it's the same thing!?)Just venting - I feel like they are hiding them now - all this run around. And the woman said she will keep me 'abreast of the situation' - yes, she actually said abreast. instead of wasting her time on being witty, she'd do better giving me my twenty five dollar's worth and start looking for MY records.

How long ago was your implantation?

They are required by law to keep the records for a certain length of time - as

permitted by

state statute.

Also, most (if not all) states require docs to give you your records within a

certain period

of time.

You might want to look up your state statutes on this.

Many doctors will charge what the state law allows, for records.

Yup, too bad you weren't able to just march right down there, pay them their money and demand them on the spot. They are probably cleaning them up. Yes, I was charged $25, which seemed typical. Had I not read in

this group that that was typical I would've made a fuss about it.

I really think they did clean them up too. Alot is not adding up

with them.
