Guest guest
Hi all, It's been seven weeks now since I've started aggressively repositioning . He turned 4 months last week. I'd say he started out with moderate to severe plagio (I was comparing his head shape to the diagrams I've seen on the web and to other kids that are brachy because his pedia didn't think it looked all that bad). The first three weeks I couldn't really tell anything was changing even though the back of his head was never touching without some sort of support. Can't tell you how many times in the beginning I yelled at my husband " support his head!!!! " when he was feeding him and let his head rest on his leg. But.....with us both diligently repositioning him day and night it has finally started to pay off. To you repo parents I've found that the rounding in my son started with the lambdoid (base of the skull)area first. I'm sure the high forward is starting to retreat at the same time, but Im so focused on the back of the head that sometimes I dont notice the other changes. Maybe other kids fill out differently and Im interested in what changes parents see first as they are watching the change. The first month I was a bit frustrated because I saw slight rounding only and I felt we were supposed to be seeing radical changes since he was only on it at night with memory foam. To my dismay, however, that was still not enough. So I cut out a huge hole in the foam so only the sides of his head were touching the foam and the flattened part was exposed to nothing. It sounds uncomfortable, but he's been on it for about two weeks now and doesn't seem to mind one bit. I'm still trying to find the perfect heigth and width (Im going to have to reorder soon)because he's growing and they don't last too long with the hole. I'd love to post pictures of him and the pillow, but Ive yet to be successful. Once Im able to do so I can post a picture of the pillow's dimensions if anybody wants to duplicate it. Good luck to everybody! cj
Guest guest
CJ, I am so glad you are seeing some rounding from repo! It is SO helpful for other repo'ing parents to hear how is starting to round out - thank you for posting!! I find your resourcefulness of cutting a hole out of the memory foam very interesting. Even if you are unable to take photos of him sleeping with the memory foam, would you be able to take a picture of the memory foam by itself, with maybe the dimensions in the photo descriptor? If and when you are able to, please feel free to add it to the FILES section, REPO HDQRTRS, REPO PHOTOS section! Would you please keep us posted on how is doing with repo? Guest guest
CJ, I can't wait to see the pictures, it sounds like is rounding out nicely! Your idea of cutting a hole in the memory foam was a great idea. I hope you're able to post a picture of that soon. > > > Hi all, > > It's been seven weeks now since I've started aggressively > repositioning . He turned 4 months last week. Guest guest
Hi CJ, I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well with your repositioning of ! It is challenging, but so rewarding when you begin to see a change in head shape. I'm also glad to hear that you are having good results with the memory foam after cutting out a section for his head. I would be very interested in seeing a picture. I'm sure other parents currently repositioning would too! I'm 3 months into repositioning my son , who is also Brachy (he's 7 months old now). Thanks for posting your update! I look forward to hearing about your repo progress in the months ahead! > > > Hi all, > > It's been seven weeks now since I've started aggressively > repositioning .
