Guest guest
Hi, Many families have contacted me to get information on suing insurance companies for denying coverage for cranial orthosis. Lawyers typically don't take these cases but I am happy to tell you I have located a firm that will take your case on a contingency basis (YOU PAY NOTHING). If you are in the New York/New Jersey area and have been denied coverage and are interested in filing a lawsuit please contact me and I will refer you to the firm. I can be reached at (201) 336-6964 or at ian@.... good luck! Ian Doris, Esq www.plagiocoach.com
Guest guest
, I'm not aware of a lawsuit against BCBS Minnesota, but hopefully one of our other members knows about it and will reply. If you find anything out about the lawsuit elsewhere, please post the information to the group - it would be very valuable to have lawsuit info to share with other members. The only BCBS lawsuit I am aware of is the one against BCBS of Illinois. The last I heard, they were in talks to settle. We try to keep some insurance lawsuit info in the links/insurance/litigation folder. The link to the BCBS Illinois lawsuit isn't valid anymore, but I did type of the update/contact info in the link descriptor. Here is what we have on that one: Devine Files Suit Against Blue Cross and Blue Shield for Denial of Benefits (DOCband) This link no longer works, but it was a news release regarding a lawsuit filed by Cook County IL Starte's Attorney Devine. Summary of press release: The lawsuit charges BCBS of IL with violating the Illiniois Consumer Fraud Act in its denial of coverage for the DOCband on the ground of being investigational and not medically necessary. This lawsuit goes to trial on 10/26/2004. Anyone who has been denied coverage by BC/BS of IL is urged to contact Asst. State Attorney at (312-603-8620) with the details of your situation to see if you can be added to the lawsuit to help strengthen their case. UPDATE: A new trial date of April 2005 has been set, but parties are meeting in December 2004 to explore a settlement. Good luck with your appeal and take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) --- In Plagiocephaly , " minoura89 " <tracy_ronan@c...> wrote: > > My insurance has denied me because it is not a covered expense. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. It may be the Illinois one he is talking about. He couldn't quite remember. I did find out that the place we get the helmet has info on it, but the person who knows about it is on maternity leave. They said they'd call her and then call me back. I'll let you know if I here anything. > > > > My insurance has denied me because it is not a covered expense. I > > know I have an uphill battle.
