Guest guest
Hi all! Well, Christian has been pretty sick the past few days. He's running a low-grade fever that doesn't seem to want to break and he's had a nasty, runny nose. We've pretty much had the helmet off. I think I've read here before that it's better to keep the helmet off when they have fever? It just makes sense to me?! Anyhow, we're off to the pediatrician in about an hour. Christian's just so miserable that I'm afraid maybe this cold has settled into his ears or his throat. I, myself, started feeling rotten yesterday with a low-grade fever, scratchy throat and sneezing. Yeesh! Just when we were making progress with the helmet...... I hope everyone else is doing well? Guest guest
Lori, When a baby has a fever you need to keep the band off. How is Christian feeling? What'd the ped say? Hope he feels better soon. > Hi all! > > Well, Christian has been pretty sick the past few days. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about the band and fever. Common sense told me NOT to keep it on him, but... I took him to the ped this morning and the poor kid has an ear infection! My 3 1/2 yo son, Dominick, has NEVER had an ear infection. Christian's had a tough week. I can only hope that he feels better tomorrow. He did sleep pretty well last night. He only woke up twice, and only very briefly. I feel like I'll never have another full night of sleep again! It's like having a newborn all over again. Anyhow, the fever part of this seems to have broken this afternoon, so--if his temp stays down--we'll resume the helmet wearing tomorrow. He was still just so miserable and 'juicy' that I thought one more night of helmet-less sleep would be good for him. I'm a little afraid that we'll be starting back at square one tomorrow with the helmet, but there's nothing I can do. I'll keep you posted and thanks again for the input and concern!
