Ang, I saw your picture and nearly laughed out loud! I think your figure is my

new goal point....lol Trust me Ang, you are NOT the one who is seeing

themselves as thin when in reality they aren't.. The woman who claims to be the

same size as you is this way. Please don't let it get to you anymore than it

already has. That lady probably has problems accepting her weight, and wishes

she could look like you, but instead of facing her problems claims that she

" dosen't feel the need to lose weight "

Romona,

I tell ya - go back and read, oh say the last few thousand posts....

(no, I'm not joking!) LOL. There are some great things in there.

Not to worry - you'll have plenty to laugh about too - not boaring!

Ang

Chrissy,

There are sooooo many sites out there that I won't even bother

listing them all....just type in calorie counters in the search and

you'll be able to pick which format you like best. And for something

to do, you can type in downloads+wieghtloss, there are calorie

counting programs and software as well.

Ok - now for me -- freaked me out, here's what happened. Sunday I

take my little guy swimming and have to stop at sister-in-laws on the

way. She has a friend there who is a tad bit bigger than I was

before loosing any of this weight.

We're talking, and she starts talking about how she doesn't feel the

need to loose weight - I keep my mouth shut. She stands up and I see

that alot of her weight was hidden in the couch and that she is a bit

bigger than I thought. She says - out of the blue - " we are about

the same size " . I FREAKED !!!!!

She is bigger than what I was 50 pounds ago and her tummy is like

mine was - large and hanging out - all but with a life of it's own

(wearing stretch pants and a t-shirt 3 sizes too big - just like I

was back then). I was in a swim suit with a pair of shorts (hip

huggers) - that showed my body completely - not that I was 1/2 -

I was wearing a 1 piece, but it was of course clinging to me as they

do and the shorts were 'exactly' fitting - not tight but not loose.

I have no 'hang out or hang over' tummy, maybe an inch of fat that

could come off and some major work on the thighs...but my waist is 32

not sucked in and I know she had to be at least 50 not sucked in

measureing the same widest area.

So, I instantly feel the need to grab a huge t-shirt and cover myself

(only moments before I felt great about myslef)...I realized this and

changed my attitude.

For absolutely no reason at all she said she weighed 200 pounds.

Well, No one who is fat, and female, for no reason says they way 200

pounds (at 5'2 " ) unless they really weight over 250 ya know?

As soon as I got home I ran to the phone to call my sister in law ans

ask " Please, be honest and tell me - are we the same size? "

But before I could ask her she told me that after I left her freind

kept going on and on as to if we were the same size. Is it possible

that I am seeing myself ALOT thinner than I really am? I am telling

you - I'm all but paniking here. Not that it's terrible to be her

size - I was (am?) but I worked so hard and lost so much and was

feeling so good about myself - and suddenly someone hits me with " you

look worse than you thought you did to begin with " .

I know, I should not realy care so much and be happy for my loss and

continue on my journy - and I am and will....but here's the

thing....if I do look like that - I HAVE to stop whereing the close

I'm in - ya know?

So, I put a pic of my chest down that my little one took while he has

snuck the digital last week (I was towel drying my hair and didn't

see him)...I put a folder in the photo section labled 'blank' and

didn't put my face or name on it because I wanted Jacy to have a look

at it. Well - need HONEST oppinions...my sister in law never gave

the a strait answer nor me one eithere and I was embarrised to

press the point.

But something else I wanted to kind of talk about - see if you guys

could identify with ----- my sister in law was saying that her freind

ALWAY did that to her - every where they went she would keep asking

if she was the same size as this person or that, or were they bigger

or smaller than her --- I did the same thing and still want to but

don't. Do you guys do that or wnt to but don't?

Vic,

I am sooooo happy I said something to the group. I was really

wondering. I tell ya what though - after a day at the pool with all

the teens to 20's group --- I definately feel more comfortable

running around 1/2 naked than the last time I swam - about 6 years

ago! I think I was a good 220 then. I just get bafled in the brain

because of the scale reading 180. I mean that's ALOT for 5'2 " !!!

Oh - and I did a real honest evaluation on myself and every woman at

the pool. I'm ok from the head to the hips (not including

arms)...have to do something about the arms and oh my gosh those

thighs!!!!! You can even see on the pic how horrid they are - and

that's from the side!

Ang,

Don't worry you can wear those hip huggers and look great! I saw

your photos! It seems that your sister in law's friend is looking

at herself with " skinny glasses " on! My sister's sister in law is

the same way. Since dropping two sizes I had a bunch of business

suits and " work " clothes that I offered to give to her because we were

the same size before I lost...and her reply to me was " you must have

lost your mind! I am a size 14! " So don't worry..you look great!

Keep wearing those hip huggers!

....the last time she saw a size 14 was when she was in high school!

Hhahahaa...

Ya, this girl said she was a size 12. I was thinking, " Ya, a 12 on

each leg. " LOL

I guess it just scarred me because my sister in law was dancin around

the question...that she's taller than me so it's hard to say, that if

we were the same hight maybe, that she has extra hight to stretch out

her wieght....I was thinking - ok, I know I am alot smaller that I

was - if I added to that what I knew I lost, scertanly I wouldn't

have fit through the door! LOL

I know what you mean, except I know for a fact I'm fatter than a lot of the

women he makes comments about. He'll be looking at a skinny girl(I'm talking

size 8) and say, damn she's got a big ass! It really hurts my feelings because

then I'm wondering what he really thinks of mine! -Laney-

Mine's allowed to look! LOL.

Fortunately, he has sense enough not to swing his head around and ogle!

Honestly, my husband and I have always looked at people, and commented

sometimes. I don't find comments about physical appearance anymore

distressing than comments about intelligence, sense of humor, fashion sense

etc. Sure some women look better than I do. But so what? I'm used to it.

I know my husband loves me. That's not diminished in any way by his

noticing that some other people-- both women and men-- have attractive

features. Let's hope they do! Otherwise, how could we make and have

friends? Anyway, personality matters one heck of a lot more than looks when

making friends -- or choosing a spouse.

As Ang said, i really admire your confidence. My boyfriend is not very macho,

and therefore tends to only have female friends. I trust that they are only

friendships, but if i ever noticed him checking him out........i wouldn't keep

my mouth shut, thats for sure.
