Guest guest
, I'm so excited to see someone else with ms who rides! I'd like to know more about you and your ms with the horses! I got diagnosed a year ago and have been riding since '88-ish. I also just got certified as a riding instructor with the Am. Assoc. of Horsemanship Safety - for my YMCA camp job, I don't give lessons though. The 'Secure Seat' method they taught helps me out a lot with my balance just in everyday life. I have a huge fear (like I sure many do) that this thing will get the best of me - and the worse thing would be if I couldn't ride anymore. I've already noticed a huge decrease in my stamia, and even in my canter balance. Then, on a 'lovely' hot & humid day, I couldn't pick my foot up to the stirrup! Thankfully there was a mounting block! Enough 'spewing' about me. How long have you been diagnosed? How long, and why, did you have to give up your riding? How did you get your riding back? I found your site, it looks as though you have a very nice program. Have you ever thought about doing theraputic riding? Not the type for those who are barely mobile (which riding helps immensely), but for those like the mobile msers - those who have a few balance issues here and there and benefit from a 'preventitive' PT. I plan in investigating this concept a little more... see if it even exists. If you've (or anyone) has heard of such a thing, I'd love to hear about it! I'm in NE - feel free to e-mail me privately, if you prefer - ...and it is much to late at night for all I've been doing today, so I must sign off. Keep riding! > > Hi , > > I love your art, especially the horses! Too bad you are not closer I > would love one, I bet they take a long time and hard work to do, what a > skill!
