Guest guest
As most of you know, we are struggling a bit with my twins' bands. Well I thought we had a breakthrough yesterday, as they wore them yesterday morning/afternoon for 7 hours. I then removed them for their nap and to track the red spots. After a 1 1/2 hour nap, one of my boys woke up w/ a huge red knot (goose egg) above his left ear. Of course, I freaked. I called the office and they told me that they hadn't heard of this before, but to leave the band off for 24 hours and see what it does, as well as to call them back this afternoon. Well, after looking at the boys last evening, both of them of slight knotting above each ear, but Connor had the huge knot still this morning and it is still red. I have a call in to the office -- I'll keep you posted. It's like we get 1 step forward and get 2 steps back! Kristi MO
Guest guest
Kristi, I'm so sorry to hear the boys are having trouble. At first I thought maybe one of them bonked their heads during nap time, but since both boys have knots it seems unlikely they both would have done it during the same nap. I feel your frustration. I see you've gotten some good advice. I just wanted to send some ((HUGS)) and well wishes. na grew 7 mm in head circumference between cast and fit. We have a doc band. She had to have a major growth adjustment less than 12 hours after receiving the band. Most orthos take head circumference measurements every check (at least mine does). It lets her know there has been a certain amount of growth. HTH and good luck, keep us posted. & na AAAGGGHHH!!! As most of you know, we are struggling a bit with my twins' bands. Guest guest
Kristi, There is definitely something wrong w/the fit of your boys bands. Do you know how much experience your ortho has with treating plaigo babies? I would keep their bands off until an adjustment or 2 has been made. I'm sorry that you're going through this! Keep us posted. --- In Plagiocephaly , " Kristi " <jeffreysmith5@j...> wrote: > As most of you know, we are struggling a bit with my twins' bands. > Well I thought we had a breakthrough yesterday, as they wore them > yesterday morning/afternoon for 7 hours. Guest guest
Kristi, I am sorry to hear this. Did ette mention them growing a lot between casting and fitting? Jenna never had that. She did have lymphnodes swell on the back of her neck while banded. These went away soon after graduation. I think i would ask to be seen. Angie and Jenna(STAR grad Missouri) AAAGGGHHH!!! Guest guest
Kristi, has ette said anything to you about the fit of the bands? If I were you, I would demand to be seen and soon! The more time out of the bands is just more time lost in this small window of opportunity for maximum correction. Guest guest
I'm sorry Kristi, that must be very frustrating. The bands must really be uncomfortable to cause a lump like that.
