Guest guest
Hi Marge, The issues that you have sound like alot (I use to have sessions of IV predisone). I was diagnosed in 2003, but based on hind site I would say that it began in my 20's (40 now). I can understand the difficulty walking issue. I started using a cane in 2004 and now I will probably need a walker, but I still feel like fighting this sickness. I have made some pretty serious changes in my diet and that is the first places to start. I had my mercury fillings removed about a year ago(another step). I try to keep hydrated as much as possible (at least 6 cups per day). I also eat high fiber cereals with flax seeds (It took a while, but I really enjoy it now). The toughest part is say no to medication. I believe GOD made this body to heal itself if we give it the right (truly natural/organic) foods. I hope that helps. > > > Hi : > Thank you for writing. Guest guest
Hi , I tried glyconutients (3 weeks - mannatech), but because of the cost I won't be able to continue(SSDI income). Other than that, a whole food suppliment calleed juice plus and as many organic foods as possible ( about 70% of my intake ). I am glad to hear that your sister is doing well. I use to jog a mile a day, and with patience and persiverance, those days will come again. Any suggestions on suppliments? > > > > > > > > > Hi : > > > Thank you for writing. Guest guest
Hi , I have some suggestions for supplements. Omega 3 (fish, flaxseed oil or both), sublingual methyl B-12, minerals (liquid minerals have worked better for me, Himalayan sea salt is good too, for minerals and electrolytes) and digestive and systemic enzymes. You seem to be doing well, but let's try to keep you walking! I call my MS " RMS " for remitting MS. calls it " running miles soon " . With a little work, we can get there! hansoan1 wrote: Hi , I tried glyconutients (3 weeks - mannatech), but because of the cost I won't be able to continue(SSDI income). Guest guest
Thank you . I currently try to get daily wild salmon intake and flaxseeds. I was thinking about B12 but, was not sure. Do you know where I can get liquid B12. > Hi , > I tried glyconutients (3 weeks - mannatech), but because of the > cost I won't be able to continue(SSDI income). Guest guest
I love this group because of all the help and support which is offered to people. However I just have to give a little warning here because I read quite often of people complaining that glyconutrients are expensive. That is why quite a few companies are then found on the web stating that they can supply the 8 essential sugars at a cheaper price. This is in fact violating Mannatech's patent and most of the products that are tested DO NOT have in them what they say they do. It may be inexpensive but you may be wasting your money anyway. mscured , DudleyDelany@... wrote: > > > Hi , > > If it's any help, this site features a less expensive glyconutrient > supplement: > > http://tinyurl.com/fj559 > > All the best, > > Dudley Delany > > > http://profiles.yahoo.com/dudley_delany >

Guest guest
I went to the site and the cost is 2x as much as 60 capsules of Mannatech's Glyconutrient Capsules. In addition, Nutratose does not have what they claim to have and is being sued right now and most likely will be shut down. I prefer reputable companies with integrity to buy my supplements from. Guest guest
Hi Raj. I've never had optic neuritis, but I do have lesions on my spine that affect my mobility. I take 6-9 cod liver oil gel-caps per day and add several tablespoons of flax oil to my blended salads or salad dressing daily. I also eat nuts and seeds. I can walk with a walker some where I used to be totally immobile. I don't think my improvement is due entirely to the EFAs, but I can tell you that they have helped. Fatty acids keep the inflammation down and coat the nerves so that toxic metals won't attach. I don't eat meat and I'm not trying to balance the omega 3's and 6's. I suppose the amount of EFA's that would help you would depend on your diet. 1 tbs. doesn't sound like much. I would increase my intake (and have recently) were I you. It won't hurt and could actually help. I may not even be taking enough. I'm sorry about your vision. That has to be frightening. Rajesh Bhojwani wrote: Hi , When you say large doses can you please be more specific. I had optic neuritis in my left eye in oct 2003. I became 98% blind in my left eye and all I could see from that eye looked like clouds of smoke. The opthalomogist that I went to see got me admitted into a hospital right away and put me on a high dose IV Steriods to treat it. This lasted 2 days and then followed by oral steroids to taper down for 1 week. Well within days after all that I regained some vision but it never really came back to what it used to be. Today I can see from my left eye, but I cannot read or focus on any detail. Things are not in High Definition. Glasses don't help as this is a problem at the nerve level. I am currently taking 1 table spoon of EFA's daily. They are with all the Omega types and other oils also. Is that enough or should I increase it further? I have been doing this for 1 month, but noticed no change in vision. Pleae advise if a change of dosage is required. Regards Raj --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your email. What about the Toxicity of the Cod Liver Oil...??? Won't taking a higher dosage mean injesting more toxins that are present in the oil? Please comment? Regards Raj --- Pugh wrote: > Hi Raj. Guest guest
Raj, You do have to watch out for toxins in cod liver oil. Make sure the fish oil that you take is pharmaceutical grade, which means that all the mercury has been removed. If it doesn't say pharmaceutical grade on the bottle, ask someone who sells it, or makes it. I use an omega supplement that is pharmaceutical grade that has fish oil, flax oil, and borage oil. It has all the EFA's. If you eat eggs, there are a few brands of eggs that have 100mg of omega 3, and some that have up to 600mg of omega 3, and they have no risk of mercury contamination. You can also get your omegas from flax oil, or a combination of any of the above, like does. Cara > > Hi , > > > > When you say large doses can you please be more > > specific. Guest guest
Thank you I am very grateful you mentioned the 'Klinghardt method'which I just checked out, as I am about to get my amalgam fillings replaced starting next week and I was wondering what to do to prepare for it - you gave me the answer - thank you!! I have had my mercury level tested and apparently the range between 0 and 30 is considered 'normal' and I've got 5. I don't know what units. One other thing:last time I complained about my eyes being really dry and itchy - they are still a bit dry but manageably so now, however I found out by chance that I am very allergic to my cosmetic moisteriser. My herbalist mixes these lovely and soothing cremes and applying those was pure bliss for my skin and for my eyes. I was amazed how the cream I used for many years before suddenly had such an effect on my skin and specially that it affected my eyes in such a way!! I bought myself a book for making some basic beauty products yourself and I am sure I will enjoy experimenting with this very much!! All the best Sandy Re: Re: Thanks , and they canceled the IV Steroids Hi Raj. The brand I use is Carlson's. It's tested for freshness, potency and purity. Another safe brand is Nordic Naturals. Toxicity is a concern for me as well. I have mercury and other metals in my body. I'm going through detox right now. The Klinghardt method of neurotoxin detox is what I'm doing and high levels of EFAs, minerals, protein and sulphur are recommended so that mercury has something to bind with other than the proteins on nerves. I also take liquid bentonite by Yerba Prima.
Guest guest
You're welcome Sandy. I don't think any amout of mercury should be acceptable! Green_GroupMS has lots of info about non-toxic hair and skin-care products, cosmetics and house cleaners. It's time we all eliminate as many toxins as we can. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Green_GroupMS/ Sandy Gordon wrote: Thank you I am very grateful you mentioned the 'Klinghardt method'which I just checked out, as I am about to get my amalgam fillings replaced starting next week and I was wondering what to do to prepare for it - you gave me the answer - thank you!! Guest guest
Hi , You were mentioning something about hair loss some time ago; I'm not an expert, but if it helps I had a problem with this recently and I think it could have been due to low iron levels. I have taken something like floradix and it has helped greatly. Best wishes Sandy
