Guest guest
So I have been poking around here and reading some of the posts on this page. My daughter however has infomred me in the past it is considered " spying " if you read peoples pages without at least posting a hello. so HELLO to all of you. My husband is 55 years old and started doing yearly wellness blood checks, prostate, cholestral etc. Last July he did a round of tests and no news was good news. this spring he had some little heart palpations and went back in for his free yearly ekg. The nurse asked him what the outcome was from his elevated PSA levels. He was floored. no one had notified him of a PSA level of 10.2 nearly 8 months prior. the clinic said they sent it to his regular doctor, who then said he never received it. So 8 months later the PSA is a 10.9 and the subsequent biopsy shows a moderate grade level 7 tumor bilateraly (please excuse spelling!). Now we are scheduled for surgery on May 13th. my husband works hard as a drywaller and makes a decent living, but we have no insurance. So needless to say we are devastated emotionally and financially by this news. We did discover you can negotiate most of your medical expense 20-30% discounts if you self pay in advance. Any other advice on financial aid would be much appreciated. I'm sure I will return to this page often for advice and information from others who are going through this and have been there. It seems like everyone we know has a diet or a tea that will provide the miracle we need.
