Guest guest
Dear Laurel, Thank you very much. I have done a lot of things in my 83 years- drove taxicab at night while attending the Chiropractic College, got my license to practice in California, went broke, went back to school and studied electronics. While employed by Lockheed, they gave me a year off, with full pay, to teach some basic electronics to a tenth grade class. Teaching can be a very fulfilling occupation- makes you feel good to help young kids. My first wife died in 1986. Soon after I retired from Lockheed and began writing a series of books for McGraw-Hill on How to Build Your Own Computer. They sold over 500,000 copies of my series. You can Google me and see some of the things I have written. After my RP in 1992, I later wrote the Revolutionary Approach to Prostate Cancer. I had over 20 MDs and several survivors contribute to the book. I am a member of Mensa and we usually had a house party every weekend in Los Angeles. I am sorry to say that there are not many members here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Sure do miss the parties. Hope you and Gregg have a wonderful New Year all year long. Aubrey Aubrey, I took no offense. I quit working last year, after Gregg's prostate cancer diagnosis. I left the best job I ever had, and one I was well suited for. I worked at a school for emotionally disturbed students ages Kindergarten through grade 12. We were a samll staff of about 30, teachers, assistants, social workers and therapists. This was a highly educated group of folks and most were well aware of world events. I miss the conversation and debate. Gregg and I are now socializing with a nice group of folks, but many of them haven't a clue who most of the presidential candidates are, much less any knowledge of the woman known as Benazir Bhutto. Good for you that you care what is going on in the world.Laurel I wish you all the bestAubrey Pilgrim, DC (Ret.)
