So, I have a couple of questions about what I can eat on the induction phase.

(1) Can I have pepperoni or not?

Yes, but read the labels some are worse than others.

(2) Can I have turkey "soup" (leftover problem...) if all it has is broth and meat?

Yes again

okay to add a carrot, right? a carrot is okay but you must count the carbs

(3) What's the deal with olives? I like to make this minced olive spread like they put on muffeletta sandwiches in new orleans. I thought I could make some of that and eat it with my ham and turkey (sans bread) but how many are safe in the induction phase?

Again just count the carbs on the olives, ie read labels Ü

(4) You can't eat the Atkins "bars" during induction, right?

True

Hope This Helps

The thing is, I am nursing my baby and plan to continue doing so for at least a year. Thanks for any advice and encouragement. I REALLY need a lot of help to stay motivated. That's why I figured I would join a list on DAY ONE.

This a great list to be on. Welcome!!! I started Atkins plan when I was nursing my (then) 6 month old a year and 1/2 ago. I have a 4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. Now I am pregnant again (SURPRISE!) and trying my hardest to stay LC. I am doing really well and am glad you have your encouragement of your family and OB. This WOE really does work. There is a group on egroups for those moms who are PG and/or nursing and following a LC plan. I would suggest joining that list as well. BTW, I am starting induction today as i indulged on too many sweets this weekend while we were away. Good luck!

yes to turkey soup, no to carrots....add some green beans, brocolli and

cauliflower, it's yummy!!

You need to stay at 20 or fewer carbs for 14 days....bookmark this sight, it

is the best carb/nutrition counter I have found and has everything!!!

Nope, too many hidden carbs, and you will (after induction) want to see how

you react to them and see if they will stall you...

This does work!!! Over 400 members on this list alone attest to that

fact. You can do it too! go to the files section listed at the end of

this message and also the Turtle menus for pics of some of our

members, and a 2 week induction menu plan that wull get you going.

We've all been there and are here for you now. just ask anything you

want, someone will be able to come up with an answer that will help

you.

Have a good day (and hopefully warmer that south central Oklahoma) .

Good for you!!!! Nursing uses up lots of calories so be sure to eat a

ton and drink lots and lots and lots of water.

I am not the advice expert but Pepperoni is ok if you don't go nuts.

Carrots are not a great choice. Green beans or turnips (my new

favorite), mushrooms, cauliflower, cabbage or broccoli are good choices.

Olives are great if you watch the quantity. Do share the minced olive

recipe if you would. Atkins bars cause a lot of people to stall. I eat

half of one once in a great while.
