Guest guest
I don't know where I first heard about the horrendous toll of iatrogenic death...at least ten years ago. I've seen it discussed regularly since then, though. I always thought it was amazing that they even kept track of it like that, but they are scientists, after all. I don't know of any CDC data available on the web, but I haven't searched lately. I'd see if your library either has it or can get it. I know it is used in research, so a research library would be best if there's one near you. Also checking the data of the researchers, such as insurance data...you might check your health insurer to see if they have cause of death data available. There is second hand information through folks like Schulze and Lorraine Day who lecture on the causes of disease and their treatment. Schulze is pretty good at tracking current statistics in the medical field, like the fact that the adult diaper business is up over two billion dollars annually. There are lots of his students putting information on the web, so you might find statistical sources through them. Schulze puts out a newsletter every other month that discusses the statistics, so you can sign up for that. I know he even has investors checking out his newsletter's statistics to see what the latest money makers are, like the adult diaper business, the fast food and pop industries, dialysis machine manufacturers, etc. > Yes, you indicated that in the original quote (that it was the CDC), but I > was wondering if you could provide the specific reference for where you read > that that particular quote.
