My mom had problems with her eyes, kidneys and heart, but she made it to her 80s in pretty good shape. Her father never had any monitoring for his diabetes, other than urine test strips. To this day, many people still call type 2 " sugar diabetes. " Susie
Guest guest
, for me the fasting reading seeems to reflect the total carbs fro the previous day. Guest guest
Maybe now that I'm off the meds, I need to give up the evening snack? Couldn't hurt to try. Guest guest
Robin, I think total carbs and evenness is rewarded. Sa,
Guest guest
I agree completely, Sam. I'm already very low carb, all veggies and nuts (and an occasional Bran a Crisp). The evening snack is the only thing I can think of to change. Melatonin can retain its effectiveness if you use it only temporarily, then lay off. Susie

My aunt gave up her driving, she's dm2, on glyburide, she was visiting my grandmother in riverside, Ca, 10 yrs ago, she was driving and passed out. Come to find out, she took her gly, but didn't eat!!!! She gave up her license, my mom was injured, has had 4 surgeries on her ankles, still not right, she now can't walk without a walker. So I generally have my roomie drive me everywhere, when I do, I don't take any insulin, but I do eat anyway, I'm so afraid of what can happen. I make up for my bg when I get home, not the best idea for my dm, but better safe than sorry. carol
