Guest guest
Sherry... Do you really see this WOE as "only eating fats"? It's unfortunate you don't see all of the vegetables and whole foods (i.e. natural, non-processed) and their benefits. And exercise is important no matter what type of eating one does. While I whole-heartedly support your right to choose, keep in mind the vast majority of "low fat" products on the market contain ADDITIONAL carbohydrates (i.e more than their non-low-fat counterparts). Perhaps you should consider just reducing your fat intake if that is something of a real concern to you. Again, I support your right to choose. -Marlena in DC I agree with you Marlena.........I eat alot of grilled chicken and veggies......sorry to see anyone think of this as just fats. Guest guest
Sherry, This WOE is one of those where you really need to believe in it and buy into it wholeheartedly in order get the most from it. If you truly do feel it is unhealthful to you, then I suggest that you don't even do it for weight loss. Why would you be willing to risk your health during weight loss, but not during maintenance? That isn't a healthy way to think about a WOE, regardless of what WOE it is. You need to pick a style of eating that works for you on all levels -- emotionally, mentally, and physically. If Atkins isn't it, then why waste time on it at all? This is not a lose-weight-quickly-and-then-go-back-to-your-old-eating-habits kind of diet. Those never work. This is a lifestyle choice. I doubt if you'd find any of our active, successful members who would tell you any differently. There is something out there for everyone, and I'd be the last person to say my way is the best way for every human on the planet. Terry Very well said Terry. If I didnt wholeheartedly believe in this woe I couldnt do it day in and day out.

Guest guest
Why are you planning to go off this WOE? I am just curious, because the food on this plan is sooooo much tastier than low fat, and the choices on this woe are much more varried than low calorie. As to the vitamins, I take the Atkins brand of Essent. Oils, Basic 3 and dieters advantage, I also take CLA and COQ10. The atkins brand seems a little pricey, but I really can tell the difference in quality when I switched to a cheaper brand. Sherry wrote: I'm going to do the diet and when i get to where I want to be, I'll probably go low fat. I've done low fat before and it works just as well (lost about 10 pounds a month). I just wanted to try something different this time to see the results. It's easier to eat less than 30grams of fat a day vs. low carb. I don't have the headaches and (bowel problems) on low fat either But by the looks of it, low carb works for yall, and I'm gonna make it work for me! What is a good multivitamin to take? thanks! sherryKathy

Guest guest
Sherry, here is my question? Did you read the book? Do you understand how this wol works, how your body burns the fat faster than you ingest it???? Do you realize that Dr. Atkins is a cardiologist? world renoun? Do you believe he would have the no.1 best selling diet book for 30 years running if folks were dying from this? or not getting more healthy?????????? Read the book hon, he is a Dr....... Annie...ps. eating fats for the rest of your life kind of answered my question.......read the book hon.....read the book........ >just because i personally don't think that only eating fats for the rest of >my life just to keep my weight down is very good for my health. I'd rather >eat low fat after I lose weight to maintain the weightloss. Guest guest
The negative press on this wol can drive you crazy But if you look closely at what they say, you will soon realize that they don't know much about it and haven't even read Dr A's book before criticizing it! One of the first things almost all of them say is that "a no-carb diet is unhealthy" . Well, this is not a no carb diet! Meenie yes i have read the book, but reading the book doesn't prevent me from seeing other criticisms about the diet as well. One dr. says this, another dr. says that. It makes you crazy wondering who is wrong and who is right
