The incision is clean, dry, and intact. The uterine fundus is with mild

tenderness, s/l U -2.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

This is a guess, but could he be saying U-tube? (found that in Stedman's

Surgery Words)

Vikki,

Did the doctor dictate it " U minus 2 " or " U over 2 " or " U2 " or what? I

cannot document it in any of my books, but if I remember from my QA person

correctly, it has to do with measuring the fundus from the umbilicus. I

have one doctor who always says fundus is firm at U and nontender. She also

says fundus is firm at U/2 or U/1. Depending on how he/she said it, I would

put U-2 or U/2. Not positive on this one, just a suggestion!

I think it is a direction meaning 2 fingers (width) below the umbilicus. U/2

OB/GYN's, Hope this helps,
