Guest guest
Amy, there has to be room for growth. I'm not saying it should just flop around on Aidan's head though. A passive style helmet relies on growth alone and wouldn't apply pressure. Active bands/helmets rely on growth for improvement as well, but apply gentle pressure to help with a more aggressive style. They just redirect it to a certain extent. When had her band, they shaved the same areas at every adjustment. Every now and again they had to shave the areas that didn't need correction, but because she was growing it was causing it to be too snug. Make sense? Good for you on calling the ortho. He should be able to answer your question in a more medical sort of way. Let us know what he says. Guest guest
Hi...thanks for the info... I talked to the orthotist and he thinks that it's rotating too much because the straps aren't pulled snug enough. So we'll try that for a couple days. We go in Friday to see the doctor and maybe she can also check out the fit. Guest guest
Sounds good to me. I have heard of ortho's marking the straps so the parents know about where to go. Maybe that will be an option? Dustie > > Amy, there has to be room for growth. I'm not saying it should > just > > flop around on Aidan's head though. Guest guest
Jenna's ortho did just that. She made a faint line on the velcro strap so we knew exactly where it should be.
