I have been monitoring the PLS site for some time. I am a caregiver. My wife

has PLS and Arthritis, I'm Byron and wife is . When she started to get

bad and needed help. We started off with manual wheel chair but arthritis put

a stop to that. We got a scooter for outside the home, shopping, etc., we use

our Van which we also pulled our RV. She did not use the scooter in the

house, but used the walker. Now if she wants to do anything in the house her

stamina is getting worse and we had to get a Jazzi electric. Which is

maneuverable inside.

Not knowing your ages, family size, strength or ability it is hard to advise.

I am able to load the scooter with a six foot ramp 24 inches wide into the

van. I just walk beside it and it pulls itself into the van. It has a gear

release on the back so I can push it on in if I have to but don't have to

usually. We have a Chevy S200 which is a large one with a largeV8 engine. It

is a 1990 but in good shape. I pulled the seats out of the back and load it

from the back and have plenty of room. If we were hooked to the trailer, I

took out the front rear seats and loaded from the side. It worked well for a

good while but I think our traveling days are almost over.

If you are strong enough to load it as above, you could convert at a later

date. Unless we get Arthur under control we will be looking into one that

will load her while seated in the Jazzy. So if you think you have a few

years of activity and are able bodied a regular full size van would be fine.

I had to get a large van to get a big engine. we could use a smaller one,

when we do have to stop traveling. I am 74 and is 70. We just take

things as they come.

The Jazzy is trickier to load, but can be loaded on the same ramp. This

letter is a scramble of my thoughts as I think of things and are not in any

order.

We had to tear out a bathtub and put a walk-in shower this last month and

that has been a blessing. But we have to get a new lift chair in the near

future after Christmas.

Would enjoy hearing from you. Byron and [Our snail mail is Clarence
