Guest guest
I don't have any real statistics, but our chiropractor told me there is a definite link between tort and ear infections. He checks Abby's ears every time she goes in for an adjustment to be sure they are clear. I could ask him more about it, if that would be helpful, even though it's not really a link between banding treatment and ears. Hope that is a little help! & Abigail (9/2/03, StarBanded 2/10/04 & tort)MI
Guest guest
Good to hear from you, Rhonda! Aidan has only ever had 2 ear infections so I can't give you any statistics. Hope Collin is doing well. Natasha > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hi Rhonda! I know of no studies about ear infections and plagio, but there has been one study on hearing. This study shows auditory processing disorders in plagio babies. Here's the link to the study abstract (summary), but if it's two lines you may need to copy and paste the whole link to your address bar: Auditory ERPs Reveal Brain Dysfunction in Infants with Plagiocephaly (pub. Jul. 2002) In the current study we demonstrated, for the first time, that the central sound processing, as reflected by ERPs, is affected in children with plagiocephaly. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=12140415 & dopt=Abstract Since we've last seen a bit of you here at the board, we have added a lot of info on insurance to the FILES/INSURANCE folder and LINKS/INSURANCE folder. There is also a ton of studies in the LINKS/PLAGIO STUDIES AND RESEARCH folder, if you think it will help. Don't be a stranger! Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, It is great to hear from you!! I am glad to hear things are good for you and Collin (except for the nasty ear infection). Makenna had constant ear infections from about 3 months until she got tubes at a year old. I asked the doctor if her plagio had anything to do with them and he said 'no'. I completely disagree. My daughter had plagio on the right side and had constant ear infections in her right ear only. There was always water in her ear and it was unable to drain. How can they truly know what plagio causes anyway? Most doctors are still in denial about plagio, by itself. > Hi everyone!
