> Val..how long were you on hc before you weaned off. the questionspage seems to say that its not realistic to expect that. but dod youthink one can at least wean back to isocort?Val has said several times lately that she was on HC 3 1/2 years. The way it works is that you get optimized on your thyroid meds andthat will allow your adrenals to heal. Then you get off HC and theywill be able to handle cortisol needs. The whole body gets run down and weak when there is not enough thyroidhormone. It hasn't got enough energy to heal itself. It getsinflammed, body processes don't work properly, cholesterol goes up,you are tired, hair falls out, and so on.Get the thyroid levels working properly and then you can let youradrenals off life support.Dorothy------------------------------------

I thonk how likely depends on hwo well supported you are brave enough to

do. I know the first 10 months I spetn on Hc at 20mg was a total wasted

effort on my part. The quite possibly had I got directl;y to 30mg to

begin with I might have bene off HC in a matter of months rather than

years, but I also had severe RT3 issues that wer beating the crap out of

my adnreals. Getting rid of that as well as fixig some other bad hormne

deficiencies was what i needed to do while on full adrneal support to

allow them to heal. Once the other hormone imbalances were treated, thre

adrneals just took over for themselves. I think adrenal healing is a

wonderful sing when you get the other hormones RIGHT.
