Guest guest
Hey Val- My best friend is finding herself out of sorts. She has battled depression for years (since our teens) and was diagnosed with Bi- polar disorder. Her Father was diagnosed with this and her Mother with Hypothyroidism about 3 yrs ago. Most recentely, she has been extreemly tired, finding herself nodding off during the day at work, body wanting to sleep 18 hrs a day, has gained 20lbs in the past year, and her husband mentioned the only time she is " herself " is during her period. (I have asked her to get Ferritin and Free T3 tested. TSH 1.4 (Range 0.58-1.64) Free T4 0.68 (Range 0.34-5.60) Her doc told her her Magnesium levels were quite high (since reduced by eating dairy products)and she has the Epstein Barr Virus dormint in her system. She takes meds for the Bi-polar: Fluvoxamine (Antidepressent) 200 mg/day Lamictal (Mood Stabilizer) 200 mg/day Wellbutrin (Anti-Anxiety) 300 mg/day Roserem (Helps her get to sleep) 8mg/day Any suggestions? I am concerned that her Magnesium was really high and with the anxiety I wonder if there is an adreanl component, along with Hypo (given the bi-polar, depression, weight gain, and I even read in one book Epstein Bar connection.) Let me know what you think. Sincerely, Jen
