Guest guest
Hi all ... thought I'd share experience of my first flush undertaken a week ago. It's been a real turning point in my life and I haven't felt so well in years. By way of background I'm 40, male, and had three severe GB attacks about three months ago. Ultrasound detected a polyp but there was no mention of stones although the surgeon told me the pains I had would have been associated with passing a stone. With a radical diet change I managed to avoid any more pains and resisted the surgeon's burning desire to cut out my gallbladder. I was right for about 10 weeks but got a few niggles a couple weeks back so decided to brave up for a flush. I followed one in Cabot's Liver and Bowel book -- basically three tablespoons of olive oil and three of lemon juice each 15 minutes until I'd consumed a total of about 300ml Olive Oil and then took the remainder of the initial 500ml of Lemon juice. It took 2.5-3 hours to ingest it all -- I started about noonish and finished the foul muck mid-afternoon. I'd had a light breakfast that morning and by 5pm I was hungry although quite naseous ... I think I went wrong in trying to have a few mouthfuls of steamed veges and by 6pm was violently ill and spent a good 15 minutes peering down the toilet bowl. About an hour later my rear-end exploded and there was so much muck I would have never seen any stones (and I wasn't going looking too hard either). Anyways the next morning the old bowels rattled again and I gave birth to about 8 or 10 obvious stones --- about the size of beans, dark green and floating on the top of everything else. During the rest of the day the bowels moved another three times and I caught glimpses of another one or two stones. While I didn't see the hundreds reported by others this has still been one of the best things I've done for a long time. The flush was on the Thursday, apart from a few controlled toilet visits I was reasonably well on the Friday but on Saturday took on a whole new lease of life. It's now a week on, I've been eating mainly fruit, vegetables and salads. I'm not only feeling incredibly well but a lot of people have commented on how well I look. Sorry to ramble on but I can thoroughly recommend this to anyone ... I'm planning another flush in about a month and although it makes for a pretty yucky day I'm sure it's worth it.
