well i am glad that dr. L doesnt have a weight restriction b/c i wouldnt pass,

but i have been on weight watchers faithfully for 2 months now and successfully

have lost 13 pds. and i plan on keep going until i weight atleast between

142-124, so that gives me about 9-10months to do so and at the beginning

sometime of 2003 i will have my TR.

good luck to all

Re: weight

Dr. Levin has no weight restriction. It is a little harder for him to

do an overweight person, but he will do it. He just said it's a

little harder. I need to lose about 100 pounds, so I really know

about being overweight. He did my reversal in October 2001 and

everything went well.

That is one of the reasons that I went with Dr. Levin. He said that he has done

them with women over 300 lbs but sometimes he has to do a up/down incision

instead of the Bikini cut to make it easier to get to the tubes. He will talk

to you about it if you have any questions.. he was great about it when I asked.

in MI :)

I don't think so, I am about 40 lbs overweight and he asked me my height and

weight and didn't say anything at the consultation.

I am 6' and should weigh 150-170, unfortunately I weigh 200, although being

tall does disguise it pretty well, it's not all in one place, just spread out

all over.

Judy~I thought I would add that I know about gaining weight, I put on 15 lbs

this last year, but I also know that 20 or 30 lbs is not a whole lot to lose!

:0) Don't be afraid to shake that butt some and get yourself movin! I will be

doing it right along with ya. I just started running again and boy does it

shake. I have an excuse now, but in a few months the 'just had surgery' one

runs out, so I am at the deadline. Smile. As far as the cottage cheese thing,

well I gave up a long time ago, but I want to feel strong and limber. Forget

about what it looks like, feel what it feels like. Right? And the weight

doesn't really matter as much either. The more you move, the more you will

want to! Love ya, Ingy

Ladies! One thing that helped me out of a slump was to get away from the TV.

It obviously does not portray a healthy woman as the vision of loveliness.

The reason? Marketing. How would the companies sell products and merchandise

if their commercials portrayed people just like you and me? We naturally WANT

what appears to be within our reach, yet not in our possession, something we

don't have already. If Roseanne did an add for jeans, for instance, we would

look in our closets and realize that we already have enough of those. If an

anorexic woman trots down a runway looking like a 14 year old boy with a wig

on, and wears the lattest fashion, we are naturally going to feel that it is

something we don't have. A look we don't have. That is why the figure of a

woman that represents 2% of the population is used to sell dieting products,

clothing and cosmetics, etc. to the other 98%!!!!

BRAINWASHING!

Now all of you ladies are BEAUTIFUL in my book. Speaking of books? LOL

Love,

Ingy

I am, as I like to say, a perfect size 6 (shoes that is) The

other day my daughters and I were shopping and my youngest, Abigail,

ask me if she could get a pair of pants like mine. Being quite

flattered by this remark I ask her why. NEVER and I mean NEVER EVER

ask why. She innocently replied " Because they whistle when you walk! "

Well ladies, needless to say this is not a new trend in fashion.

I was wearing corduroy and the " whistling " was a direct result of my

thights rubbing together. I could probably start bonfires with the

excess friction. So I get home and say " Dr Atkins...here I come "

I'm now on day 7 and have managed to lose 6 pounds (according to

the scales anyway.) But let me tell you....if someone so much as

waves a pretzel or a plate of pasta under my nose I'm a goner.

Having realized a long time ago that I have the metabolism of a

slug and zero willpower I have adjusted my life to be that of a woman

of size. But even Women of size can be beautiful. Fat is also a

state of mind. If your mind says you're fat, then even at 100 lbs,

you look in the mirror and see 220 lbs. I personally think that 1/2

the weight battle is mental. So when you look in the mirror

ladies .... remember to look for the beauty, not the beast!! When you

see the beauty so too will everyone else!

Hugs,

Bonnie

P.S. Yes, Tammy, that little episode is yet another chapter in the

book of " Life With Abigail "

I agree with you 100% about the way you see yourself. My weight

problem really bothers me because im what they call a " pear " shape.

Meaning that im bigger on the bottom than on the top. Im the perfect

size basically on top but from the waist to my knees im NOT!! when i

do lose weight i lose it in my face and upper body and really look

sick because then you can see bones that dont need to show but my

bu** is still 2 sizes to BIG!! Oh well, I inherited it from my

mother and grandmother, I use that one alot, :) , and usually people

that guess my weight usually guess me about 20lbs less than what i

really am thanks to being tall. One of these days maybe they will

come up with a way to just lose weight from certain areas of your

body.
