Guest guest
Hello The worst is over that is for sure. Casting is soo bad, but if you think about it. This is only a few minutes of their little lives which my daughter totally forgot about when she got the bath afterwards. lol She loves baths. Guest guest
, the casting to me was the worst part. I hated that, hated that! You are right though, it doesn't mess with them except during the moment. Did he get real happy in the bath? If you decide to cast him again (for whatever reason), don't forget the lollipop. I took one for my daughter the first time and between her and her grandmother, they had it gone within the first 2 minutes, so from then on, I took at least 3. hehe.... Let us know when 's DOCBand gets there. Are you planning on decorating it? Guest guest
Dustie, by the time he got to the bath, I was lucky to wake him up enough to keep him from rolling into the water, but he was very happy and fell right to sleep as soon as I picked him up when it was done. I am planning on decorating his band, and I will definitely keep you all posted once it comes in. Guest guest
, I talked to my mom and she said if you need anything at all to let her know. If you need her email address & phone, write to me and I'll give it to you. She lives off Cliffdale Rd, so is pretty central to everything and said y'all could go for coffee at a bookstore, lunch or whatever you'd like. She's really been a great support to me during my son's DOCBand experience. The casting is a horrible experience. No mother likes to see their child put in uncomfortable situations like that. But, it was 15 minutes max of his life and a necessary part of his journey to a round noggin. Good luck this week. My son, Judah goes to get his 2nd DOCBand tomorrow. We're dreading it now only because it took almost two months for my insurance company to get their poop together and he's gotten a lot more independent since then. We'll be picking up some Goody barrettes on the way home, for sure, to keep him from pulling the velcro tab open. I hope he takes to the 2nd band as well as he did the 1st. Eeeeeee! I feel terrible, because I am leaving my poor husband to deal with it on his own for the next two weeks while I go to a conference in London. The timing couldn't be worse! Thankfully, my mother-in-law lives on a cattle ranch near College Station and has offered to keep him for part of that time to give my husband a break. Guest guest
, Yes, I would like to have your mom’s e-mail address and phone number. We live off of Cliffdale Rd. too, so it can’t be that far away. Things have been crazy around here for about the last month. My soon to be husband got home from Iraq a month ago and I’m trying to teach him to do everything the way it’s supposed to be done with both kids, he’s a slow learner when it comes to this stuff. He thinks that he can get away with play time only, and he doesn’t like to assist in tummy time, since hates it. I’m working on all of it and I think I have finally found a way to get him to understand better. I take him to all of the appointments with us so that he’ll get the information right from the professionals, if I can call them that. So far, I’m still not very impressed with the pediatrician. He’s great when it comes to the small stuff, but he refuses to do anything without sending us to Durham or Chapel Hill for a thorough diagnosis from a specialist. Most of the time it wouldn’t bother me, but if he’s going to send us to an orthopedist who isn’t a pediatric specialist, why can’t we see one in Fayetteville. And, he doesn’t know anything about what a DOC band is or why I would want to use one. He was suggesting repositioning for , his plagio is severe enough that even if I could get him to stay in the position I put him in, it wouldn’t do any good. I don’t have the measurements yet, I forgot to ask for them on Wednesday, but when we go back for the band, I am getting a copy of his official before pictures and I will ask for the measurements then. Time to go, wants to eat.
