Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group and I'm glad that you found us. If your tonsils extended 2.5 inches then that would convert to 63.5 mm which is quite rare. The average herniation is somewhere around 7 or 8 mm. I don't know who your Doctor is but I think he is wrong to say you are making up your pain. You don't have to make up pain with this mess. There is enough real pain to go around. I would ask him what is giving him the impression that you are making this up. There is no " sure fire " cure for Chiari. There are percentages. I know of many who have gone on and had absolutely no problems. On the other hand there are quite a few that had the surgery and are still having problems. It is not all that unusual to still have some problems. Well, I just wanted to welcome you aboard. I am happy that you found us. Guest guest
Dear , I also was descended 2-1/2 inches before surgery! And I was progressing downwards very quickly too. I also should be 'cured' after surgery but have had terrible pain still. Take care, Barbara in Florida
Guest guest
Thanks for the math - which I am bad at - I was descended 1 inch, or 2.5 cm. I always get them confused. But I think that is still pretty considerable isn't it? Barbara in Florida
