Not sure what's going on...

Hi Val,

Over the last few weeks, I've noticed I've been going hypoT much faster than

usual between dose increases. In fact, it seems like I've regressed a little.

Granted, my

most recent increases have been on the smaller side - 5 to 7.5mcg each - to

bring me to my

current 112.5mcg Cytomel. But, up until recently, the time between my increases

has

been about 10 days. Now it seems like every three days I need to increase.

I'm on 40mg HC, temps are stable between 98.1 and 98.3. BP sometimes drops by

two points when I stand, but usually nothing more than that.

Also, oddly enough, over the past few weeks I've gotten my first cold in three

years, and my

first yeast infection in 20 years.

What do you think is happening?

Thanks,

Tara

Because hypo and hyper can feel much the same especially a it causes adrenal stress either way whihc will down regulate any good effects of T3.-- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/------------------------------------

Hey Val,

So my temps have gone sky high today...98.7. Yesterday was 98.2. I

cut the HC down by 5mg and T3 by 12.5 as you suggested. Now what's

happening, do you think?

Hmm, the only real symptoms I noticed today were feeling hot (oh surprise) and

maybe

flushed a little. I also had a couple of instances of ringing ears. I didn't

take my pulse

during the afternoon, but sitting here right now (and I've been rushing around

doing stuff)

is 82.

I also realized that I might be starting to ovulate, too. I'm pretty close to

when I would,

but not sure since last month's was a little early.

that was yesterday, and i had dropped the hc 5mg. i don't think you saw that

post

yesterday, because you didn't respond.

but today, after the high temp yesterday, i dropped even lower than i was

before. i was

averaging 98.2, then yesterday 98.6, and today 97.8 now what? is it too soon

to tell? or do i

need to make any changes?

i did lower the T3. if you check back, you'll see that you recommended i lower

both the

T3 and the HC because i was at a high dose of both but with low temps and seemed

stuck.

are you saying i should lower it more? or has the thread gone on too long and

it's now

confusing? ;)

now, again if you check back, you'll see that i was questioning after lowering

the hc my

temps spiked and then dropped. two days after the spike, yesterday, my period

started.

so, now i'm wondering if it was my cycle and not low cortisol. should i still

raise the hc

back up, as you suggested after the drop in temps? or should i see if it levels

out?

I would say to hold for a week at least or until you get some clarity.

Watching for sympoms that temps are too low or irratic, or other symtoms

that clarify what isd oging on good or bad.

i was hoping you'd say that. :)

any idea why my fT3 would be in the 800's and i'm still feeling hypo?

I've been at 40mg for quite some time, and my temps seem pretty stable

although they have dropped since I lowered the T3. BP usually only

drops by about 2pts when I stand, if it drops at all. Does low

cortisol sound like a concern?

It's just odd that my hypo symptoms return when I drop the T3, temps

don't raise. What is the deal with T1? I've never heard of it...

I know you said you haven't read about it, but what do you know of it?

Is it something that would cause these symptoms?

Both T2 and T1 are metanolized form T3 T2 has similar effects to T3 but

T1 is the calming thyr9id hormone that actually undoes some of the

effects and I have read that isolated in tests done on rats it literally

puts them to sleep. It doe s nto anesthetize them, juts totally relaxes

them. SoI imagine it is another of the body's safeguards (liek RT3) to

too much thyrod.
