Guest guest
> 1. what are the normal ranges for rT3? > > Depends on lab but most I have seen are roughly 90-350 What is the unit of measure? I have no idea, but what ever is standard in USA measures. > > 2. what is a good T3/rT3 ratio range? > > The ratio range is over 20 if it is calculated with Free T3 an if the total T3 is used it is over 10. I'm sure fT3 will be used - but what does over 20 mean. 20 part T3 to 1 part rT3 in the case of fT3/rT3 ratio? Yes T3 should be 20 (or more) times as much as RT3 I don't currently take any thyroid meds...I gave up over a year ago. Is it best to measure rT3 while taking meds or without or does it really matter? It does not matter. If oyu have high RT3 wihtout meds taking anything wiht T4 in it will make it worse. How long does it take rT3 to clear the system - whats been the range of time needed for people on this site? 3-12 weeks. According to Dr. Rind you can easily tell if someone is making excess rT3 simply by looking at their thyroid blood values before medication...is that really true? Myabe mostly i have seen labs while ON meds so really haven't seen any with peo;le NOT on meds. While on meds you cannot tell from the Free levels. You can get suggestions such as when Free T34 is over mid range and Free T3 is low in range. But even thta is not positive. Guest guest
I know nothing abuto that kind of T3. BUT what I have learned form trying so many differnt kinds of it is that potency varies greatly from one ot the next. I would suggest you try a differnt brand. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
>>I don't know if there is another brand to try but certainly I will ask. Although since my fT3 blood values were tested at 14.87 (2.0-4.2) while I was taking 140mg of T3 wouldn't that imply it was potent enough to raise my blood levels for fT3?<< YEOEZY!!! Yeah ti wa potent enough but I suspect you sdailed righton past a good T3 level into hyper land which can feel the SAME as hypo. It also implies maybe your adrneal support wa not enough to get it inot the cells. I knwo you have had severe adrenal issues in the past. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
I suspect there are other checks and balances in the body that may prevent T3 from causin damage at super high levles, it may even be T1 whic they are finding more about eveyr day and it;s calming efffects oin the body. If your RT3 was still too high whne you passed your good spot it si conceivaable to go right from hypo to hyper and not feel a bit of benefit. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
I do believe conversion can get stuck. As RT3 makes the body favor conversion of T4 to RT3 and blocks conversion to T3 it would make sense. I had high Rt3 issues for 125 years that no amount of fixing other homrones and having perfect glucose has corrected. I am now on the same dose of Armrou I was on at 19 yars old, for the first time in ocer 30 years a much lower dose is working ofr me. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
ANY illnes causes higher conversion of T4 to RT3. Liver issues I am certain could and hypothyrodism itself cna cause elevated liver enzymes. but long term diseases such as EBV, and Mycoplasma and Hepatits or things of that nature would be suspect for needing t3 for life. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
>>That the thyroid problem is only an indirect result of a constant diseased state?<< Not necessARILY BUT TI SI POSSIBLE AND IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT IF WE HAVE ONE OF THOSE DISEASE WITH hypothyroidism t3 might be the better med choice for us. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
My Rt3 was caused by years ago being on VERY high doses of Syncrap (500mcg) from my doctor thne, and possbly from high cortils which I never had confirme dwith testing but as my BP was 245/148 for 2 years with so much fluid retention it became Congestive Heart Failure that ONLY Armru (with ti's T3) was abloe to correct, I woudl say that si 3what caused my high Rt3. In the 15 years since then I had tried all kinds of doses of Amroru and Armour and t3 and never got rid of hypo symptoms and on JUST Armour could never get my T3 even in range even on 6 grains. This was when I started lerning about RT3 nd thyroid resistance. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
